Classification: Query
Surnames: OPDYKE, KIMBALL, GRESSLEY
Iowa Marriages, 1851-1900, shows GEORGE W. OPDYKE m. JENNIE KIMBALL in Muscatine County, Iowa, 13 JUL 1875.
Jennie was the widow of Leonard KIMBALL, and had children. from that previous marriage. Jennie (nee Gressley) Opdyke had one child by George W. Opdyke in 1876, born in Illinois. And by 1880, George has disappeared from the family, and although Jennie is not listed as a Widow in the census, she apparently married a third time later that year (to William H Porter) in Aurora, Hamilton, Nebraska.
I can't seem to find a GEORGE W. OPDYKE in the Op Dyke genealogy, or anywhere else, born about 1840 ± 20 years, (Jennie was born 1841) who isn't already 'taken'. Anyone have a George who links up?
