Batho / Openshaw??

Surnames: Batho, Openshaw, Irving, Toft, Bond
I have about 10 photo cards in an extremely old family album of an elderly couple. All are labeled Batho (or Bartho or Barto) Openshaw. I am trying to discover who these people are and whether perhaps they are Barhos from Openshaw or Openshaws, and how my family is related to them.

The first of these photos that are stamped by the photographer is from Manchester, England. One later photo of the woman is from Keokuk, Iowa. Both the photos of the man alone and of the woman alone have this name "Batho Openshaw" written on the front and on the back.

Two sides of my family traveled to the U.S. from Manchester via Keokuk, Iowa. They were the Irvings and the Tofts, and also the Bonds--maiden name of sister, Marie Toft and Sarah Irvin). I believe it i likely that the Openshaws/Bathos could be the maternal family of the Bonds.

As much as I am aware, the Tofts and the Irvings were Scottish, Welsh and English. The Tofts ultimately ended up in Humboldt, California and the Irvings ended up in San Francisco, Humboldt, and B.C., Canada.

If anyone has an idea, or has someone with a similar name in their family tree, I'd love to know.

Thanks very much!

P.S. If you click on the pictures you can see them full sized and not squished.
