That was my sister, Maria, that you had spoke to, but unfortunately I was unable to meet with you. My grandfather was Luigi Opipari from Zagarise. My grandmother was born in Pittsburgh, PA and she moved to Zagarise when she was about two years old. Her maiden name was Maria Opipari, but they were not related.
My Uncle Giseppe still has a butcher shop in Zagarise. My second cousin has a jewerly store in Zagarise which is called Opipari Jewerly. My father, Salvatore still travels to Zagarise twice a year. The last time that I was there was in 1995.
My grandmother is related to Dr. Michael Opipari from Michigan.
