Borough resident dies at 19

Miss Geraldine Theresa Opsatnik, 19, of 16 S. Third St., West Hazleton, died 1:30 p.m. Sunday at her home.

She was born in Hazleton, daughter of Paul and Josephine (Bera) Opsatnik.

A graduate of West Hazleton High School, class of 1975, she was employed as a cashier at the Blue Comet Diner and was a member of Transfiguration R.C. Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents is a sister, Debra, also at home.

Funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Hilary J. Bonin Funeral Home, 99 W. Green St., West Hazleton, with Mass of Christian Burial in Transfiguration R.C. Church at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary R.C. Cemetery, Drums.

The rosary will be recited tomorrow at 8 p.m.

Viewing will be held tomorrow from 3 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Geraldine Theresa Opsatnik, 19-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Opsatnik, 16 S. Third St., West Hazleton, who died Sunday at her home, was buried yesterday from the Hilary J. Bonin Funeral Home.

The Rev. John A. Madaj was celebrant of the Mass of Christian Burial in Transfiguration Church, West Hazleton, and gave the blessings at the funeral home and grave in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.

Pallbearers, all uncles of the deceased, were Michael Kokinda, Michael Mihallo, Raymond and Michael Maursak, George Potcner and Peter Wasinsky.
