Frank OTREMBA was in my mother's family too. In fact, mom's parents bought the house at Middle Village NY on Humbolt Street, from Frank and Nettie Otremba. They were mom's aunt and uncle. I'm in Michigan and mom and my dad live with me here.
Some of Franciszek and Nettie Otremba's children later changed their last name to "Otrambo".Frank married Marion Wilde and had 5 sons and a daughter all named Otrambo. Vivian used the name Otrambo until she married Leonard Gruba. Joseph married Caroline Kreger and had a son, Alvin. Caroline died and Alvin was raised as an Otremba. Alexander also kept the Otremba name.

My grandparents lived way in the country near Rivera Beach, Md. I don't know if Valintine ever lived in Buffalo, N.Y.What I am trying to find is some kind of records of my mothers birth, or of her marriage to my father Gustav Radtka. They lived in Brooklyn, Md. with 7 siblings, on Doris Ave.

No info on a Frank Otremba, but I'm looking for a Catherine Otremba. She lived in Maryland for awhile, then moved to Maine with her husband, and then back to Maryland. Possibly had several siblings. They were a poor family. She married Gustav Radtka, of Polish descent. Most of the Otremba's seem to have moved to the mid-usa. I have no dates on her or Gustav, but his mother was born in 1862, which would mean she would have been born around 1880 or so. Could your Otremba be related to Catherine?

Hi,
My Great Great Grandfather was Anton Otremba was born September 1851 in Nawra, Province of Lobeau, Westpreussen, Germany- as I understand it , this area is now Poland-
His parents were Martin Otremba and Veronica Kottewicz Otremba...
I know Anton had siblings, family legend has it that after Martin's death, Anton had a falling out with his brothers, and refused to have anything else to do with them... soon after,
Anton and his wife Josephine(Maiden name Orezchowski) left fr the United States.-Most likely between1880-1883...
I am not exactly sure what year it was.... My Great Grandfather, Anton Jr, known as Anthony in the US... was an infant (or so the story goes) when they came over and he was born in 1880....

the Otrembas went from NY to North Caolina, as Anton was a mason, and they needed help building the roads, and the money was better. Later on they returned to NY and settled in Brooklyn, NY.. There are still some Otremba descendants in Brooklyn, and Queens Cty. New York.

I don't know if you can find a liknk from any of this, or if it helps in any way.... If you'd like more information or anything, you may email me privately @
cjsmommy@ptd.net

regards,
Kerri
Do you know where your Otremba family came from?? As far as I can tell, My Otrembas came from Nawra Poland which was on the border. Most of my Otrembas stayed in brooklyn, or Queens, NY- although we had a John Otremba who moved away and lost contact with the family of his own accord, so is it possible that Catherine was one of his children?? What other naes are in your Otremba family?? Maybe our Otrembas were cousins??
