I'm sure you must have this already. I show Dinah Otto was the daughter of Cornelis Otte & Johanna Bakker. Her father died when she was only a year old long before the family came to the States. John

I am of the opinion based on Hamilton Co., Ohio census and death records that his father was Charles Henry Otto,
born June 17, 1853, Germany, died June 24, 1924, in Harrison, Hamilton Co., Ohio. Burial St. Johns in Harrison, Ohio.

Thank you for this info, Frank- it should be of help enough that I might actually find more on my OTTO line. All I have found so far is that Caroline OTTO married George J. NIEMEYER (both born and died in Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky)- they are my great grandparents- and Caroline's father was Andrew (Audrew ?) OTTO- born 1 Apr 1829 in Germany and died 23 Mar 1912 in Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky.

Betty

I've been told at least one or more of the OTTO family moved to Cincinnati (Hamilton County)- along with some ending up in Indiana around St. Meinrad. I've only found something on one that ended up around St. Meinrad so far- no luck on the supposed Ohio part.

Betty

Hi,
Im helping a close friend, find information on her ancestor Daniel Gaby Otto. She knew that he had died in CA. I see that you have mention that he had died in Oregon. But buried in Smith River. Is that in CA or Orgeon. I would like to be able to get this headstone photo for her of Daniel Gaby Otto who was married to Lucinda McVay Finch. Are you still working on this line.
Charlotte

He came from Austria and died in Rutherford after 1930..children:Oscar,Frank and John Otto. All born in Carlsdadt.

Thought it was coincidence that you had a Maria Otto..perhaps she is related to the above family.

Betty,
I have no idea if any lived in KY. The only info I have is what I got out of the Reg of Deeds at the court house. So its all WI stuff...

Louis Otto's brother Frank H. Otto was born in McHenry Co, IL, he married Rosetta Merry Apr 12 1887, then married Rhoda Ann Bean Aug 5 1892. Rhoda and Frank had Laura Esther b. Dec 9, 1893, Ellis Burton b.Apr 11,1905, Emory Lee b.July 24 1898, Ethel Maude b.Sep 7 1900, Effie May b.dec 15,1896.

I believe Louis and Frank also had a brother John who was born in Buffalo NY (same place as Louis) and he married a Mary Coats Sep 12, 1880.

Louis and Celia had Luella E., Benjamin Franklin, Rosa M., Catharine E. & Francis Paul (George W.'s siblings)

I also have info on some OTTOs that I don't know if they are related.

Ferdinand Otto and Minnie ? had at least 2 sons, Herman and Julius William. Herman married Sarah Eggeston 1877 and Julius married Hester Lucretia Johnson in 1881.

Julius and Hester had Jennie Agnes, Eva Inez, Mary Amy, Clara Alma & Alice Lucretia. (I found birth records for these, J&H may have had more children.)

I know the Kord info. is correct and have his parents as Johann Kord Otte (1698 - 1768) and Anna Dorothee Hahn (1704 - 1753). Can anyone confirm that Catharina is related?
Crystal,
Would any of the OTTOs in your line (siblings, etc.) happen to have lived in Louisville, Jeffeson, Kentucky ? My great, great grandpa was Andrew (Audrew) Otto (1829 Germany- 1912 Louisville, Kentucky) and I have't been able to find out anything from his birth in Preuben, Germany or of his family (parents, siblings, etc.). He married Agatha Quartemeir- they had Caroline M. (who married George J. Niemeyer- where the surname Miller has been found also), Josephene, and Francis.
If Andrew (Audrew) is in your line somewhere then we can exchange with each other what we have.

Betty (Indiana- born in Kentucky)
My family records stop around 1600 for our Sauerbry family. One ancestor of mine: Johann Georg Sauerbry born around 1692 in Viernau, Germany. According to our records, his father was Bitas b. 1653 and his mother Susanna (no birth date). Johann was married to Anna Barbara Otto who according to records (which don't add up) was born in 1692 in Leimach, Salzungen. (Much of my family at this time was in Salzungen. My mother's maiden name was Sauerbrei (note spelling) and her parents and grandparents came to the US from Segelhort, Germany. Her grandparents' name was Kruckeberg and Suhr.

Have some reason to believe that John Moritz Otto may be decendant from "Otte" in Germany (i.e. somewhere the e became an o.) Any substantiation would be appreciated.

Re: Jessie Josephine OTTO

Jessie's mother - Jane E Mathews married Andrew Mathews in 1866, she then married Theodore Meyers, then Joseph Otto and finally James Bailey. The Edward Mathews listed in the 1920 census is Jane's son by previous marriage. Jane had two children with Joseph Otto, Jessie and Joseph Jackson Otto the later being the same listed after her in the 1920 census.

Jane was living in Linn County, Kansas during the marriages to Andrew, Theodore and Joseph before moving to Oregon with Joseph.

I believe that Joseph Otto - the father is the same as my several greats uncle Jackson Otto who was born in Lyone, Wayne Co, NY.

Has anyone found where Jessie, Joseph or Joseph Jackson died/buried??? I am still trying to find concrete proof that this is my line.

Would love to share/compare what I have on the line so far.
