my father in law william otts often speaks of sildy as his aunt prob. great aunt actually. was interested if you or anyone has a clois edwin otts it was williams father. don't have info. in front of me and it's been a while since i've been actively seaching. hope to find anything out will check back in a few days. lots of our family is from malvern, ar. saline county or reyburn if that helps. thanks

I have not verified this information but maybe it will assist you. Parents are thought to be Phillips OTTS and Margaret GOODGION. He taught a private school in Spartanburg a number of years, then taught school in York, SC, and surveyed land. He went to Union Co., SC, and taught school. A county surveyor of Union until he had a stroke which left him with some paralysis. He continued to teach until he was physically disabled. He and his wife are buried in the D.A.R. Cemetery, Union, SC.

I hope that this project will confirm my paper work and provide me clues as to where to search for further information on ancestors.

My line of interest is William John OTTS who was in Fayette, Lamar, and Marion Cos., Alabama. The surname was sometimes spelled OATS and OTS. I'm always delighted to exchange information with other researchers.

i kinda remember you,i never knew uncle manual's middle
name was bill, the special stuff you learn if you just try.
are you going to be able to make it to the get together
this weekend?, hope so.i feel like i need to get closer to
my family lately. oh well enough about that.i am getting
real close to finding out where our family came from, but
this isn't horseshoes,i traced marion(babe) to ship seems
elizabeth was mother doesn't mention father? if i learn of

Check this page . The name that came up is Arron. but the other seems to match. Michael P. Otts /Oates was son of Jrthro and Artisha Oates of N.C. I do not know his first name, only that he was briefly married to Dolly Williams, her maiden name, and divorced very soon after the birth of my grandfather Frederic Otts.

My name was Karen Otts before I married. My dad is Posey's son Manual Bill Otts. I have met your mother several times. She is wonderfu. I met Mary Ann at a reunion a few years ago. I found the family tree that you made. I haven't had much luck finding anything new. I just started getting into genealogy. I would like to find out what country they came from. There is a research library by my office I started going to that has a lot of info from all the states. People go there to research genealogy. I would be interested in any info you could share with me. Maybe I can Find some more info at the library. I will share anything I find with you.

My husband is Billy (Billie) Joe Otts whose father was Persie Paul Otts and mother is Earline (Cribbs) Otts. Persie's father was Daniel Taney Otts. He was Posie's younger brother. I'll be glad to send you any information I have about this side of the family and would like some information about Posie and Avie. All I have on them is their names and Posie's birth and death dates.

Do you know anything about "Babe"'s parents or brothers and sisters? I know he was born in North Carolina but haven't been able to trace him any further back.

Also I am told there is someone in Texas who has traced this part of the Otts family but have not been able to find out who it is. Do you have any information about that?

As for the reunion, we are going to the west coast for two graduations and to visit some of my family in May so won't be able to go this year.

I can tell you about the William Otts who married in Greene Co., AL. He was William Perry Otts b. 1814 Spartanburg Co., SC, son of William Otts and Delila Brewton. He married Catherine Wilder in Greene Co., AL. About 1852 they moved to Vienna, LA, then in the late 1860s to Homer, LA, where they died and are buried. They had four daughters and no sons. They are listed in the 1850 census of Greene Co., AL, 1860 Jackson Parish, LA, and 1870-1900 in Claiborne Parish, LA.

I am sorry that I am not familiar with your William J. Otts, so cannot help you there.

Survived by husband and 9 children; Methodist. 23 Apr 1909 Her parents Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Owens of Rome, Ga. arrived too late for funeral.

Have you heard of Julius Otts who married Rose (Or Rosa) Lee? She died in the early 1920's and is buried in Ft. Myers Florida. I have been unable to determine Rose's parents or siblings. She was my great-grandmother. Julius Otts is the son of Samuel P. Otts and Sarah McKissack Whitfield Otts.
Samuel Perry Otts is the son of James and Joicy Otts. Samuel's brother is A. M. Otts who later moved to Texas.
