I am in research of my relatives of the Oubre from Vacherie.
My grandmother is Georgiana Gautier from Wallace-St.James parish. I would like to meet any relatives in connection to her. Her husband(descede) was Whitmore Gautier.Their children were Whitmore(giant), Larry-in Denver,Colorado,Stanford-Denver,Colorado,Perry(descede),
Elmore-Baton Rouge, Aliciason, Deola from Lucy-Edgard.

Her siblings include Irene Legaux, Arthur (Autie)Oubre, Gert, Marguerite Davis, Paul Oubre, Henre Oubre, Agnelia and Elmira Duronsolet. Am I related to any of you? I live in Los Angeles.

You mentioned your maternal grandmother was Archange oubre Goins. I don't know her, but you did mention some of her siblings. Two that you mentioned was Paul and Arthur Oubre, her brothers. Arthur is my uncle, who I don't know more about, but Paul is my paternal grandfather who died I think in '75 or '76. He married my grandmother Gloria, now living in Nash, Texas. They have 2 children. David, my uncle, and John, my father. We still have many relatives in Louisiana. I guess that means that me and you are related. My gg grandmother was Armantine Boe. She lived in St. James Parish, Louisiana, and was married to George Oubre. I have also seen her name spelled Bouy. Her children were Evela Oubre Rome (my great grandmother), Elodie Oubre Clement, Amelia Oubre Kliebert, Alida Oubre Mirande, Rene George Oubre, Joseph Fabien Oubre, Auguste Williamson Oubre, Joseph Gerard Oubre, and Lezin Charles Oubre, Sr. My family tree hits a dead end at Armantine. Am seeking information on Eugene Oubre and Emeline Tircuit Oubre, born in La., circa 1845. They are buried in St. Ann's Catholic Church Cemetery in Morganza, La., but with no dates listed. Their daughter, Isabella (Belle) Oubre was my great-grandmother; married to Albert Matthews Melson. Belle was born 7/22/1869, died 3/25/1937. She may have had a sister named Mercedes and a brother named Leslie, although I find no info on either of those names. Anyone with info on this Oubre family line?

I am looking for information on Valery Houbre. I have found information on a family tree that lists a Valeri Oubre in St. James Parish. Valery was born abt. 1820 and appeared in Natchitoches Parish in 1850. He was my g-g-grandfather. My grandmother, Alice Hoob's name was changed from Houbre in the early 1800's. If anyone can help me connect this man to the Oubre's I would greatly appreciate it. I have information on decendants only but if this is him - I'm sure I will have additional info in the future.
