Robert Dwayne Overton
Robert Dwayne Overton, 57,
of Erie, died Tuesday, May 27, at St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born in Meadville, Pa., the son of Edward E. and Dorothy Jones Overton, Sr. He attended Meadville Senior High School and moved to Erie, where he lived for 30 years and worked as a supervisor for Plastikos, Inc. He was a great outdoorsman and hunter and a member of the Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his Father; a sister, Joyce Carlisle; a brother, Ronnie Overton;
and also by his paternal grandparents. Survivors include his fiancé, Bonnie Atkinson, of Erie; his mother in Palm Bay, Fla.; as well as by brothers and sisters; Edward E. Overton and his wife, Sandra, of Meadville, Pa., Constance Reed and her husband, Carl, of Jacksonville, Fla., Bruce Overton and his wife, Maxine, of Albion, Pa., Beverly Johnson of Erie, Pa., Gregory Overton of Palm Bay, Fla., Larry Overton of Meadville, Pa., Charlotte Lucas and her husband, Timothy, of Paris, and Emmaline Edwards with her husband, Cliff, also of Meadville, Pa. He is further survived by sons, Dwayne and Robert Overton, both of Erie, Pa.; a daughter, Kimberly Overton, of Colorado; as well as by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Viewing is for “family only” on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th St., Erie, PA 16502. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
