I am looking for the parents of William Wilson Overturf (my greatgrandfather) who was born on April 7, 1876 in Benton, IL and died on April 7, 1953 at that time living in Dixon, IL. My grandfathers name was Carl Noble Overturf. Am also looking for any information in regards to his siblings.

Hi, We are descendents of John W. Overturf and Jane Rea, John Overturf and Sarah Elkins, Eli Overturf and Martha H. Mallory Harris Overturf Welch, Rebah (Jack) Gasten Overturf and Grace Dowdy. Eli Overturf lived in Benton and St. Louis. When he died, he was taken on the Cairo, IL Ferry, but to where nobody seems to know. We are searching for his burial site. Martha stayed in St. Louis and had 5 children by Eli Overturf. Rebah went to work in Pike County, MO where he met Grace. They moved back to St. Louis and had two sons. Rebah and Grace are buried in St. Louis, MO at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Looking for info on Carrie May Overturf. D/O Wesley and Emily J. Overturf. Married Alexander Taggart and lived in the Wann Oklahoma area. Died abt 1960 in Oklahoma and buried at Dewey Oklahoma. She had several children including Wesley,Charles, William, Hosea, James and Robert. She was born in Ohio abt 1868. Siblings include Mattie E, Charles O., David E. Family lore says that her father was in the Union Army but I can't validate this fact yet Also family lore says Carrie was a school teacher in possibly Shawnee Oklahoma. If anyone can help fill in the blanks or validate any of this info I would be most greatful.

Levi Overturf/Elizabeth Gulley death dates and obit

I'm researching Levi Overturf b. May 1842 IL son of Adam and Rachel Overturf and Elizabeth Gulley b. Jun 1845 TN daughter of James Gulley and Caroline Elizabeth Hughes. They married June 9 1861 and then moved to Pope Co AR.

The 1910 census has them living with their daughter Lillie Morgan but they do not show after that, so I assume they both died between 1910 and 1920.
Their children were: Arwine b. 1863; James b. 1866; Robert S b. 1869; Annie b. 1876; Lillie b. 1886 (all b. AR)

I'm hoping someone knows when they died and where they are buried.

I am looking for info on my GGG Grandfather, John W. Overturf. He was born around 1828 in TN. and passed away around 1900. As far as i know, he was married to someone by the first name of Dicy. I believe she was born around 1828 also and passed away 9-11-1903. If anyone could help me, i am trying to find out her last name. Otis Overturf was born Aug 5, 1883. Their children were Helen and Pauline. The Byrnes family came from Oil City, Venango County, PA. Mabel's parents were Michael Augustus Byrnes and Mary A. Coulter. Michael's parents were John Byrnes and Rosanna Boyle.

Mr. Conrad Overturf of Rush Township, and father of Mr. John Overturf, Cashier of Thos. Dugan & Co.'s Bank, died last Thursday evening. Mr. Overturf, at the time of his death, was over seventy years of age, and had been confined to his bed for the last four weeks. He came to this county about the year 1816, and by his social qualities and uprightness won for himself a host of friends. He was a kind neighbor, a respectable farmer, and has been chosen to fill offices of trust in the county, at one time being elected to the Sheriffalty, fulfilling the obligations attached to the office in a manner satisfactory to his fellow-citizens with credit to his honesty and integrity of purpose, and moral courage in the discharge of his duties as a conservator of the peace. The community looses one of its most upright citizens, the county one of its old landmarks, and the family an affectionate member.

[Conrad was married first to Rhoda Kendall and second to Rachel Kendall. Conrad was a twin of Isaac, sons of John Overturf and Elizabeth Remley; the twins were born 9 Feb 1801 and baptized at Jacobs Lutheran and Reformed Church, German Twp., Fayete, PA on 31 May 1801. Conrad died 31 Oct. 1872 and Isaac, 1 Oct 1880; they were younger siblings of my ggg grandmother, Mary Overturf (1787-1870) m. John Coldren.]

I know that my name with 2 F's came from the Overturf s (1 F) in Fayette Co, Pennsylvania (origionally descended from Balthasar Oberdorf, Germany), after my Great great great grandfater Dorsey Overturff added the extra F to his name. I know that there are others out there with 2 F's. I was wondering if any of the single F overturfs added more Fs to their name, or if they descended from Dorsey Overturff, who settled in southeast Iowa in 1856. Any help is appreciated.

I am looking for more information on this branch of the DeWitts. Ned's father was the older brother of my grandfather, Bruce Tinsley DeWitt. Dorsey “Earl” Overturf, 51, of Loveland died Oct. 7, 2004, at his home.
He was born April 19, 1953, in Santa Rosa, Calif., to Donald and Betty Overturf. He graduated from Central High School in Denver. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He married Cathy Simpson on Feb. 13, 1999, in Longmont.
Mr. Overturf owned and operated the Rocky Mountain Performance Automotive shop in Longmont for 15 years. He moved to Loveland in 2002.
He loved automobile work and racing and raced in the SCCA category. He worked for the Robert Penske racing team as a tire buster and built and raced hot rods. He loved to raise chows.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Overturf of Loveland; two sons, Kevin McGonigal of Denver and Ryan McGonigal of Longmont; a daughter, Diana McGonigal of Longmont; his parents, Donald Overturf of Texas and Betty Talley of Arizona; three brothers, Joseph Talley of Las Vegas, Nev., Donald Overturf of Houston, Texas, and Scott Overturf of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and two sisters, Catherine Kaiser of California and Denisa Little of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Overturf.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Viegut Funeral Home.

I am looking for information regarding Martin Pahl. He has at least two children Gilbert and Martin.

These names appear in an obit for my greatgrandfather George Bleichner in 1930. Martin was married to one of my grandfather Thomas Bleichner's sisters. The Obit lists only the married name so I am trying to locate the wife's name.

From the 1930 census from Richfield, MN there is a Martin Pahl with a wife Catherine and include a son Gilbert age 15.

I am looking for information on Phillip Overturf-born 1766 in NC- Was in NC in 1780 and 1800. Was in the 1812 Warren County TN. Census. Was in Independence County, Ar in 1820-1830- and 1840. Was in Sevier County, AR in 1850.
Was dead before 1860.
In 1850 Census he was listed as head of Household --living with him was son John, that later married Sarah Beatty--
Also son, James that married (1)Lucinda Hudson(2)Elizabeth Jones.

My 4th greatgrandmother was Mary C. Overturf. She was B:5-16-1813 D:1-25-1852. She married Burnett Welsh B:4-16-1810 Va. D:4-4-1887 Polk Co. Mo. They had 9 children. I can list them if anyone want to know. I can't get any further back than Mary. I've hit a dead end.

I just found out that my great grandmother was Nancy Jane Overturf born about 1870. She married James Franklin Gregory (b. about 1869). Nancy was about 37 when she had my grandfather so surely there were more children besides him. My grandfather was James Garland Gregory born Dec 14, 1907 at Atkins, Pope County, Arkansas. James Garland married Effie May Cross (born Aug 15, 1912 at Atkins, Ark) the daughter of Will Cross and Martha Bone. I had never heard the surname, OVERTURF, before today so I also was wondering where or what nationality it is. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
