CONCORDIA, Kan. – Opal L. Owen, 88, of Concordia, Kan. died Dec. 27 at Mount Joseph Senior Community in Concordia, Kan. Owen was born March 27, 1914, to Frank and Pearl (King) Everhart in Belleville, Kan. She graduated from Belleville High School. On Sept. 3, 1934, she married Orie C. Owen in Belleville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Lowell Owen; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Harold and Louis Everhart. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Clarence Huff of Brazoria, Texas, and Beverly Wallace of Omaha; sons and daughters-in-law, Ivon and Pat Owen of Concordia, Kan., Lonnie and Sandy Owen of Ashland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Arlene Everhart of Omaha and Leo and Ruth Everhart of Belleville, Kan.; sisters and brother-in-law, Velma Tunks of Central City and Shirley and Ray Lipker of Alma; 26 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Services were held Monday, Dec. 30, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel in Concordia, Kan. with Rev. David J. Redmond officiating. Burial was at Belleville Cemetery in Belleville, Kan. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home of Concordia, Kan., was in charge of the arrangements.
