Thanks for posting. Would like to info. It looks like John P's father was Charles Hill Oyler - he had 2 brothers- Melcher and Robert and their father was Jonithan Oyler, born sometime between 1780 and 1790. Stated Melcher's name changed to Oylear in 1835. I have also seen "Oylear" spelled Oilar, Oiler, Oilear and Oyler in census records, etc. (Not sure if you had any of this or if there are other family members out there looking!)Info on Francis would be great as I haven't been able to find anything. Thanks again!

My husband's grandfather was Leon Henry Oylear. I do not believe he ever had the opportunity to meet him.

The only information that I have been able to find is searching the census' and death index.

It appears that John M's father was John P. Oylear and his mother was Frances M. Mitchell. They had 5 children, John Marion, Wealthy A., Kittie L., Rebecca and Maggie N. I think that Mae's maiden name was Michael.

Any information regarding this family line would be helpful and would like to hear from any relatives.
