Continuing my research of Rogers Family Tree and working on Pace branch. Sol Pace was a city fireman abt 1890, married Annie Cunningham and bore a daughter Kathryn Nora Pace, my grandmother. She married Walter J. Rogers abt 1892, bore a son, (my father, Walter, Jr) and 2 daughters, Rita (Talbot) and Theresa Ann (O'Hern). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Have researched other lines back to Gen 13, but have run into a wall on this guy.

Hi Shirley,

I need to take a closer look at my Pace family. I've suspected that William was from Flemming's line, but didn't know for certain until I heard from you. You've been successful with your searches if you've made it back to the 1500's. I've been working on my Gibson line for about the same time and have only made it to the mid 1700's. Fun though....and addictive!

Hi Shirley,

I've been searching for this information for many years. I appreciate your help. Some years ago I was told Martha Jane's parents were a William & Sarah. The information was supposed to have come from a family bible, but I never learned more. From Martha Jane's obitutary, I also learned that she had traveled back to North Carolina(from TN)to visit relatives. I know now that I was looking in the wrong county. You've helped.....many, many thanks!

Sounds like your grandfather was remarried to my great grandmother Dora Pace. Her children were Eb, Ed, Fred, and Ralph Pace who were the half brothers to my Grandpa who was John Paul Maggard. His father was Benjamin Maggard who died before he was born. I guess that means she was married twice? I believe her fathers name might have been John Hart but am not too sure about that. They are all gone now. My grandmother Orlena lived to be 102 but died in Hyden Kentucky in 2006. I always heard about the Hart family but didn't know a lot about them. Mamaw Pace was a Hart prior to her marrage into the Pace family. She died about 1959. I think her sisters were Belvia, Belle, Leona and there were others but can't remember all their names. Hope this helps. I do have some pics and have attached for you. Please rely. Sounds like your grandfather married my grandmother.....

Donna West
Birmingham, Alabama
daugher of Mary Maggard

November 10, 1893

Can someone help me figure out who Thomas E. Pace's parents were? I have James B. Pace and Caroline Ward, is this correct? And if so, can someone share some info with me on this family.

One of the things I am trying to figure is how this family ended up in Washington State, there had to be other family there with them as well, and what nationality were they? Italian, or English?

I've found them listed on Census's, my grandmother Ida Florence, usually listed as "Flora" all have been listed with Washington as her place of birth.

http://www.us-census.org/pub-ftp/ks/cherokee/1920/_indx-f.tx...

I found this the other day, my mother didn't even know about her mother living in Kansas...?

Can someone help me please?

Thank you, Stephanie
My research partner has copied the pages of the court minutes and it does say that "John Jane does sayth upon his oath that he knew Francis and knows the sd Rebecca and that he married with one of the sisters of the sd Rebecca".

Makes me wonder though, he used Francis in the past tense, Rebecca in the present tense and then doesn't say he IS married to one of the sisters of Rebecca, it says he married with one of the sisters of Rebecca.

So I wonder if in fact Eliza was Rebecca's sister or if she was a second wife.

Just thought I'd pass along that. I should also say the court minutes book by Mr. Weisenger has a few court dates wrong, as does the references from Our Colonial Ancestors. The first time John Jane testified was July 3, 1694 page 506, in that testimony he doesn't say he was married to a sister. On August 3rd, page 510 he does state he was married to a sister.

Renee

The Noel Edward buried there is possibly the son of Noel Sr. I have found the 1850 Census of Smith County and Noel Sr was living at that time.

He had at lest two sons that I know of, my grandfather, Melvin Reginald Pace (later was adopted by his mothers parents and went by the last name of Denney) We knew him as Reggie Denney. His brother was Charles Harold Pace (also took the name Denney)I wonder if there is a connection to the Clarence Pace you are referring to. My grandfather was born in Salt Lake City Utah. I know that Joseph was know to be in California during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. (he and his wife Mabel were seperated or divorced at the time)Any info that you might have I would appreciate. Thank you, Shirley (Klopfenstein)James

Re: Pace - Malta

To all interested. My father's family is the direct line of the first Pace family to have setled in Malta. Originally the family moved over from southern Italy and Bologna taking the title Barons of Qlejja in the early 16th centuary. They later abandoned their title of Baroni di Qlejja to take on a more strategic and important role as protectors and benefactors of the islands of Gozo and Rhodes. The family is probably most reputed for it's long standing freindship with the British Royal family, honouring Queen Victoria by changing the name of Rabat in Gozo to Victoria, putting diplomatic pressures to bring Malta into the British Empire following Malta's victory against Napoleon and taking on the title of GrandMaster of the Freemasons Order of Victoria. King Edward VII and King George V were hosted by the family on their visits to the Maltese Archipelago. Most reputed public figures in the Pace family are Pietru Pawl Pace - Archbishop of Malta Gozo and Rhodes and his brother Francesco Saverio Pace maried to Melita nee Peralta, both sons of Georgio Pace and later Joseph Pace bishop of Gozo. Derivatives of the original family name and direct relatives are the Pace-Gouder, Pace-Lupi and Pace-Forno families. Yet the Pace line is still very much alive. The names Carol, Karl, George, and Frank are common names to boys born to the Pace family and originate from the family's ancestors and derived from Carlo, Georgio, Francesco.

Sand Flat Cemetery This cemetery is located near the intersection of Hwy 271 North and Hwy 155 North in Tyler. texas
An early East Texas Pioneer, Joseph McDougal and his wife Amira McMurry McDougal
owned this property. They, along with a number of their children and other family members, are buried on these grounds that later became Camp Fannin during World War II. Later the property was transferred from the U.S. Government to the State of Texas to build the East Texas Tuberculosis Hospital. It is now The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler
Sand Flat Cemetery is across the street (CR313 West) from Antioch Baptist Church and although the church and cemetery are separate entities, the cemetery has sometimes been referred to as Antioch Cemetery. Antioch Baptist Church has also been referred to as Sand Flat Baptist Church.

Location: Sand Flat Community, TX NW-43 Latitude: N 32:29:19.6 Longitude: W 095:16:59.7 Directions: From Tyler, take Hwy 14 North (State Park Hwy). At the intersection of Hwy 14 & FM 313 W (Sand Flat road), turn left (west) and proceed about 1/2 mile and the cemetery is on the right side (north) of the roadA history was written in 1984 about the Antioch Baptist Church and the Handbook of Texas Online has a brief history of Sand Flat, Tyler, Lindale, Winona, Red Springs, Starrville and other towns and cities.

The first known burial in Sand Flat Cemetery was W. B. Thorn, age 17, Oct 29, 1840 - Mar 4, 1858 and the latest burial was Oscar Morgan "Smokey" Jones, age 100, Jan 13, 1909 - Sep 3, 2009. Since there are many unmarked stones, there could have been earlier burials in the cemetery that are not known

PACE

CHARLES E.
