BERLIN CENTER, Ohio – Services will be Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson, Ohio Chapel, for Wayne M. “Packman” Pack, 74, formerly of Claysville, Pa., who passed away Aug. 3, 2012, surrounded by family.
Wayne was born June 28, 1938, in Ontario, Pa., to William and Anna Pack.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Monique.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Viola Pack; sisters, Jane (Fred) Kubena and Hazel (Tom) Fleming; children Marty Pack, Anna Williams, Shelly Pack, Annette (Bob) Clark, Harvey (Melinda) Miller, Bud (Sis) Troll, and Michelle (Melvin) Nye; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Wayne served in the U.S. Army from 1961 through 1963.
Wayne retired from GM-Lordstown, Ohio and returned to Claysville to pursue his true passion, farming.
Wayne farmed the land previously owned by his parents and worked part time for Securitas until failing health forced him to re-retire back to Ohio to be near family.
In addition to farming, Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, dining out, and long conversations on the back porch.
In the months prior to his death, Wayne enjoyed a great deal of time with family and friends, and reconnected with loved ones.
Wayne’s family would like to thank the staff at Robinson Memorial Hospital and Hospice Senior Independence for the care and compassion they offered Wayne during this time.
Friends may call today from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel.
