Helen D. Packer,



Helen D. Packer, 83, of 414 James St., Lock Haven, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

She was born June 3, 1925 in Castanea, the daughter of the late Edgar and Annie Eyer DeGarmo.

On Aug. 31, 1942, she married Donald E. Packer, who died April 22, 1985.

She volunteered for many years at the Lock Haven Hospital. She enjoyed reading, and growing and caring for her plants.

She is survived by two sisters, Sarah Jacobs
and Kathryn Fisher, both of Castanea; a brother, Scott DeGarmo of Williamsport; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Levi, Floyd, Paul and John DeGarmo.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., Flemington. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County SPCA.
