My ggx5 was a Robert Pakenham, according to the family bible he was the brother of General Pakenham. He married Mary Richardson of Philadelphia. I have been unable to find any info on him in Pa.He supposedly died around 1835-1840. His wife ultimately ended up living with her children in Kentucky. I was able to find her in the 1850 cenus for Boone County Ky. Interested to see if we are talking about the same Robert.

Thanks!

Deb Konrad

Thank you very much for your reply - it's becoming a bit of a wild goose chase . I know that Ethel lived in a big house called Westmead outside Dublin . Ethel may not even be her real first name - there is a very odd story surrounding what was then an illegal adoption in Ireland and I may not be able to unravel it but thanks anyway .

Karry Gardner

HELLO,
Unfortunately I don't have an Ethel in my family tree nor have I come across the name Ethel anywhere in my own research.
I'm sorry I am unable to help you right now, however, if ever I do I will contact you to let you know. Good luck in your research.

Hi,
Am researcing my family tree. Am most interested in Thomas John McCormack of 7 Herbert Place , Inchicore, Dublin , Army Officer who married Ethel Packenham .

We know little of Ethel except that she and her husband had a child who was adopted which was odd in those days . Ethel left her husband, ran away to London in the 40's and disappeared sometime durin the Blitz.

Does anyone have any proof of descent from General Edward Pakenham, of Pakenham Hall, Ireland, Killed at Battle of New Orleans 1812. He did not marry, but sired at least 3 children in West Indies c.1805, one of whom (Hellen) was brought back to Ireland and raised in Co.Antrim by Capt. Armstrong. Please post reply only if you have documentary proofs!

Pakenham Walsh, Kilkenny late 1800s

I'm trying to track down my great-grandmother's family--she was quite secretive about her roots. I recently found a birth record for a Beatrice Annie Pakenham Walsh that would seem to match closely my gr-grandmother's details, but am having a hard time proving or disproving this. The birth record states her birth address as "The Palace", and after research I understand the Pakenhams are also the Earls of Longford.
If anyone has any ideas, leads, etc I would be grateful to receive any help.
Thank you.
Liza**
