Palardy of New Milford, CT

My granfather, Andrew (Babe) Palardy was born in New Milford, CT 1914 to Ezra and Edith Murphy Palardy. I found in the New Milford Town records, that Ezra was born in 1861 in St. Augustin, Quebec Canada, and died in 1935 in New Milford, CT. His headstone indicates he was born in 1866.
The town records state that his father was Frank, and mother was "unknown." He and Edith according to town records, had a total of 7 children; Ezra Jr., John, Mary, Mabel, Frank, Elmos, and Andrew, 1 that may have died at birth, and 3 died from influenza in 1919. We know Elmos and Mabel died much later on. I cannot find ANY information regarding Ezra's birth and/or family, if he came to New Milford on his own, or with other family, etc. Anyone have any info, please let me know! Thanks!

Hi Gayla:
My GGGrandfather was Pierre Peter Pallary, b. 1799 in
St. Charles, MO. This is I think, the same line as yours.
His second wife ( of three) was Eulalie Cerre, who was the
mother of my GreatGrandmother Elizabeth Palardie.
I would suggest that you join with the dozen of us who are
subscribed to the Pallardy surname list. It's free, just
send an e-mail with the one word subscribe as the
subject or text to:
PALLARDY-L-REQUEST@ROOTSWEB.COM
Then after you receive the welcome letter (a few minutes
usually) send your query to the list. I'm sure there are
some more relatives of yours who will probably answer.
I started this list and boards for the Pallardy/Pallardie/
Palady/Palardy and on-and-on group of name variants
several years back and there are still only about a dozen
subscribers. Louis's occupation is listed as a farmer. I looked for the grave but there must not have been a headstone.
Thats all I have for now,take care,Dick

Yes I am Agnes' second daughter. I live in La., so I don't get to the cemetary at all. That could be Dot, if it is a fairly new grave. I think my grandfather is buried in a Lutheran cemetary in Pawtucket, but I am not sure. My sister Ann would have known where all the family are buried, as she would go every Memorial day to place flowers. Ann died in Nov. 1999. Mom is still doing well, she is now 87 and is very active.

searching for info on maternal grandfather

I'm looking for any information on the parents of my maternal granfather, whose name was Jean-Baptiste Palardy,or Palardie. His father's name was Louis and he married a woman by the name of Odile Gauvin, in Weedon, Canada, on Oct. 18, 1880. When they left Canada, they settled in New England, probably in Connecticut. My grandfather did live in Moosup, Ct. when he was younger. I'm starting here, because I need to find out how he came to meet my grandmother, who was from Trois Rivieres. I recently found out that my mother was born in the town of Northbridge, (village of Linwood), so I know that they lived in Massachusetts also. My grandfather's name is listed as John B. Pallardier on my mother's birth certificate. I'm doing all this to establish my family tree and to find out where the Indian blood line comes from. I know it exists on both sides of my family, it's just trying to prove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Krissie969,

My grandfather, Honore Palardy was a dairy business owner in Massachussetts and came to Quebec in the 1920s. One of his siblings might have headed to Rhode Island. Or may be an uncle of his. I believe my mother would know, and I should look it up. He had four kids, Denis, Normand, Rene(my father) and Andre.

Cheers, Good luck with your search

We just recently took a trip to Vermont to conduct some family history for my husband. His great-grandfather is Joseph Palady (Born in Canada) and wife Caroline (Carrie) but we have seen three different spellings of the name-Palady-Palardy and Palidee. Could this Joseph be also the one we saw?

I have some research that my uncle did while in the seminaary in Ottawa on the family.

It goes back on the palardy side to about 1680 with many dates of birth and places, and on my grand fathers mothers side to about 1658

All of this goes back primarily through Quebec in and around Trois Rivieres (Three Rivers) and traces much of the family history through Rhode Island as well. I know my grand fathers family was in Rhode Island.

Also, it makes note of the way the family name has changed over time.

You can email me directly and I will get what information I can to you

Palardys in Ohio

I'm searching for my great-grandmother, Mary Palardy, who lived in Norwalk, Ohio in the early 1900s. She was married to a Leo Schneider, who later abandoned the family. Mary gave up their daughter, Dorothy, for adoption. (Dorothy was baptized at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Norwalk, which I'm guessing is where the family went to chuch.)

I've been looking for years but have never found any evidency of Mary. I am positive this is her name, as it's on my grandmother's baptismal record. There is a Josephine Palardy, who may have been related, buried in Norwalk.

Agnes born 1847, died July 21, 1919 and Francois in d. 1911.They had 10 living children and 3 others who died in infancy. I am descended from their son Arthur b.12/2/1884 d. 4/29/1953. Agnes and Francois are buried in Notre Dame Cemetary,Pawtucket RI. When I was there a week ago I noticed for the first time that there was a Palardy stone about 10 feet away which I have to go back and study to perhaps add to my genealogy records. I'm sorry that I didn't write the information down but something very important came up about a missing monument that I had to discuss with the manager of the cemetary. Would you send me your information on the Palardy family? rmorin@snet.net

Marcia, are you my (cousin). Is your mother Agnes? If so could you tell me who is buried next to my parents and grandparents at Notre Dame Cemetary. The stone sys Gertrude but is it Dorothy? It seems that Agnes Palardy didn't die in Central Falls as did Francois. I still want to get his death certificate to see where he was born. Have you noticed another Palardy monument to the front of the Michon one. It's a tall slim white one. My sister Janice and I were wondering where Bill Swanson is buried.
