I have a Rose E Palin in Lynn Massachussets from Canada in the 1930 US Census - approx 50 at the time. Her son Joseph Palin & wife Margaret in their 20's and their son Joseph Edward Palin Jr. who was almost 3 at the time of the census(J. E. Palin died last Wednesday).

I am looking for more info to connect them to Canada (they spoke French Canadian according to the census. Looking for Rose's husband, etc.

Would appreciate ANY help!!!

Bill Palin was from Montana I am sure and Was part or all Blackfoot Indian, And has a son Ron and a Daughter Patty who are alive.

Bill Palin was my uncle, My dad was Glenn palin and has passed on 4 years ago. Ron Palin is uncle bills son. They are Marines as I.I was Born In portland Oregon ,1951. Uncle Bill had a plate in his head from the War. He was a Cool man. I always was surprised as a young man that a person could live such a normal life with a plate in his scull from a bullet.

It was wonderful to find Susan's notes today. The tree and line researched is very close to what I have found out today.

Arnold Palin was my great grandfather's brother.

My great grandfather was the youngest or second to youngest son of William Palin and Mary Dickenson. He was called Henry Venables Palin.

The Middle name Venables is curious. It is carried by Arnold Henry Palin's daughter Muriel as well as by Henry Venables Palin and two of Henry's daughters, one of whom, Mary Millicent, was my grandmother. I wonder if you have any information on the name Venables and from whom it may have been inherited?

It is unclear to me as to which of William's children inherited Stapleford Hall. So any information would also be appreciated.

His father was Mathurin Renaud married to Gabrielle Rousty

Marie Pelletier parents are Francois Pelletier and Michelle LeChalle

Mathurin Renaud father was Rene Renaud for in France
Gabrielle Rousty father was Raphael Rousty

I just checked & I don't have the Maria & William that you found... yet! But they might turn up in one of the outer branches that I haven't got around to yet. LOL

I do have another Oakes, though. Martha Oakes b.1725 in Lower Peover & d.1763. She married William Sant b.14th May 1725 in Middlewich, married 1747 & had at least 5 children. As of right now, I don't have any more info on her (parents, siblings, etc.).

Isn't it funny how the Palins, Oakes & Sants keep showing up as connected over & over...

You asked me if I had any Sants in my tree Been looking through and found a Maria Sant b.Winsford 1801 who married a William Oakes b.Winsford 1800 Could this be a relation of yours
My cousin was an Oakes and they are all in my tree so if Maria is related to you there is quite a bit of info for you

Hi, I have just been doing a bit of work on the palin branch of my family tree and came across this post. I am a descendant of William Palin (1816-1898) from Shropshire, I think his parents were John Palin (b.c 1783 and Mary Furber).
William emmigrated to South Australia and was married to Elizabeth Reece (c. 1811-1842). They lived in the Port Pirie, Maitland area of South Australia.

My great grandfather was Charles Palin (1871-1957), he was the son of William Palin (1839-1874)(son of the William Palin above) and Clara Lloyd.

I am happy to share any resources that I have on this branch of the Palin family and would really like to find more about the family before they came to Australia.

Hi - me again... After checking on the Cheshire BMD website, I was only able to find 1 Henry Palin born in Middlewich between 1845 & 1868, so I requested his birth certificate. It came today & was a total surprise!

It shows Henry Palin born to SARAH Palin (not Ann LOL) & Thomas Hughes on Aug 9th 1859 in Newton, Cheshire. As he took his mother's surname, that would indicate he was illegitimate, but not to the mother I was thinking.

Does anyone else have this Henry in their tree?

In that case, no - you're right. My William married Margarett (Egerton or Akinstall - I still haven't figured out which one she was) in 1841 or 42 & had 7 children but no Georges.

However, Wharton & Warmingham are close enough, geographically, that I would bet they are connected further up the tree... :)

Clive is a very small village (I don't know how familiar you are with the area). My Grandfather Sant, on my Dad's side was born there... I wonder - do you by any chance, have any Sants in your tree? The Palins & Sants in my tree are intertwined several times.

My Grandmothers family are Palin and they came from the Welsh borders (saltney ferry) and Liverpool.
There's some mention of sea captains and express drivers but I am just really starting to explore all of this.
There is an Evans in the line and also a Law (I think it was Lillian) from Liverpool too.

My Grandmother was a Palin from Saltney Ferry (mold junction) North Wales. Her father was William (Bill), mother Winifred.
She has a sister Dorothy. DOB 1923 & 1925

I am currently picking her brains for dates as she is 86 :-)

So if anyone has any info on the the Palins mentioned i would love to hear from you.

I have recently found out the following:
Eunice lived at 10 North Street Saltney Ferry.
She had two cousins called Douglas and Donald ( one deceased)
I believe that some of the family may have come from Liverpool originally and there has been some talk of one of the great grandmothers marrying a dutch sea captain.
Her Grandfather served in WW1 in Egypt where she attended school.

William Palin

I am helping my cousins in finding information on their brother. The name is William Palin. He was born 6 April 1910 in Minnesota. At some point he moved to Michigan as that is where he obtained his SSN. He then moved to California and enlisted in the army in 1942. From there I next find his death record at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland Oregon. Date of death is 18 May 1992. His last address was West Linn, Clackamas, Oregon as shown on SSN death index. I have not been able to find an obituary on him. We don't know if he ever married or has any descendants. Any help would be appreciated.

I live about one and a half miles from Clive
William in 1861 has lost his wife and 3 of his children and is living in Middlewich Road Clive as a lodger the only other person in the house is an Elizabeth Sant she is down as the Head and also a Widow her age is 37 that is all that the census says so I dont have any info on Elizabeth
By the way nearly all the Palins I have found round here were born in Warmingham and I do believe there are still Palins in that area

I have checked your family on the census a while ago but I dont think that your William is the same My William married an Ann Phillips had 4 children 3 died and 1 lived his name was George my g.grandfather
I think my Willaims mother could have died and his father maybe remarried
