Paluch - Galician Polish or Russian Polish

I just found out my great aunt's maiden name was Paluch, not Pollack, as I was led to believe. I know the name is Polish, but could one of you Paluchs tell me if it is a Galician Polish name or Russian Polish name? Also, have you people seen the name mispelled as PALUCK? My Paluch immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Thank you for any help.
