Ann (or Anne) Pangburn -- New York, Ohio, Kansas

I am looking for information on Ann Pangburn. This is her married name. I do not have her maiden name. She was born in New York, New England, or possibly Ireland about 1825. She was in Ohio about about 1850 and gave birth to a daughter, Ella. By 1870, she was divorced and living in Olathe, Johnson Co., Kansas with Ella. Ella married George Jacob Strong of Michigan about 1875, and eventually moved to Montana. Ann is listed in the US 1880 census in Johnson Co., Kansas. There was a five year old granddaughter living with her. The granddaughter's name was Cora Bell. The age is close to Ella's daughter, Mary, but obviously the name is incorrect. There was also a cousin named Samuel Denison listed. There was another Kansas census taken in 1885, and Ann was still in Johnson Co. However, the granddaughter was no longer listed. Family records state that Ann died about 1893 in Kansas.

Does anyone know anything about her, her husband's full name, or family members? Thank you.
PANGBURN tie to NY soldier, Gerrit SEGERS, b.c. 1620/GARRISON DNA efforts

Nancy- If you google on "Gerrit Segers" along with the surname of GARRISON, you will read about an extensive published article series by Phyllis Miller, c1993, New York Gen & Bio Rec. Please find this at the library.

Also see Garrisons' Compass DNA project, focusing on the Gerrit SEGERS DNA group (which several years back was known as the French group while in GARRISSON II DNA Project, now part of Garrisons' Compass DNA surname project.) This DNA is also part of the SEGERS DNA project. See generally www.familytreedna.com, and follow the many links...

This SEGERS line connects to my own NJ>Cincinnati GARRISON line, so I hope you have luck. Perhaps New Scotland, Albany, New York was the area in Albany where the early SEGERS lived too? I am unfamiliar with the geographic area so thanks for this clue-- Dee in Cincy

Carol,I hope that you are still at same e-mail address. My father had a cousin in the Port Crane,NY area when I was very small. Her name was Margaret and I am positive that she was married to a George. Margaret was about 40 or 50 yrs. of age in the 1950's. Could this be the same one? She walked swiftly and was a very hyper type person. I know that they had many children and I think they had a son that they called Georgie. Is this the Pangburn family that you are searching for? If so, please let me know how I could contact a family member that would be familiar with Margaret's side. Thank you!

She had migrated to Michigan, Wa., around 1883 and on to Oregon where she died in Corvallis in 1921 (married to her 5th husband). William and Amanda's children were Marie born approx. 1872 and Mary Ellen born 4/10/1874 in Washington Territory or outside of Portland, Oregon. The children were shown in the 1883 Washington Territory census. The name Harvey is familiar also. Any connection?

Camile Pangburn was an Osage Tribal Council member for many years. I had the opportunity to meet her several years ago. She told me at that time that we were related. I was not into my genealogy as I am not, so did not question her further. I hope someone out there knows of her branch. I do not know if Pangburn was a married name or not. My grandmother's maiden name was Rogers. But, the connection could have been to her mother, and I don't know that name. Camile lived in Pawhuska, OK and was, as was my grandmother, members of the Osage Tribe.

Ann and Ella Pangburn in 1870 Kansas census

I have been looking for Ella Pangburn, b. 1852 in Ohio and married George Jacob Strong of Michigan in 1876. Recently I found an Ella Pangburn, age 18 at the time of the 1870 Kansas census. She was born in Ohio, but at this time she is living with her mother, Ann Pangburn, in Olathe Twp., Johnson Co., Kansas. Nothing is said about Ann's husband. Possibly he was killed in the Civil War, but that is speculation. Ann was born in New York, and the census indicates that both her parents were born outside the United States (perhaps Canada).

Does anyone know anything about this family? Answer on this board or email me at dennis_hutchison@hotmail.com.

Dennis Hutchison

Pangburn-Keck Family of Carroll Co., Indiana

PANGBURN-KECK Family of Carroll County, Indiana

Nancy PANGBURN was born 1829 in Indiana and died 15 Feb 1901 at Carroll County, Indiana. On 25 Sep 1852 at Carroll County she married Jacob R. KECK. Jacob was born c1830 in Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of ten children of Margaret Rebecca ROTHROCK (1786-1866) and Andrew KECK (1785-1859) who are buried at adjoining White County, Indiana. I am working on a massive ROTHROCK family tree.

Jacob and Nancy PANGBURN KECK are said to be buried at the Hopewell Cemetery, at Deer Creek, Carroll County, Indiana. In 1870 the widow Nancy and all three daughters were living with Lizzie PANGBURN (a sister or sister-in-law?, born c1826 in OH) at Carrollton Township, Page 448B, Carroll County, Indiana. In 1880 the widow Nancy, daughter Florence and a cousin, James HUNTER (age 23) were living at Carrolltown, Page 148D, Carroll County, Indiana. Nancy was the daughter of Thaddeus PANGBURN (1787-1862) and Mary (POLLY) HUNTER (1795-???).

Jacob and Nancy were the parents of:

1.	Mary KECK (b. 1854), married William MARTIN?, or did she move to Kansas?

2.	Florence C. KECK (b. 1858) married Mr. COHEE and then Newton MARTIN

3.	Emeline KECK (b. 1860), married William MARTIN?, or did she move to Kansas?

Does anyone have any information to trade on this PANGBURN-KECK Family? Dan_Stevenson@sparta.com
Annie Coats was Andrew Jackson Pangburn's second wife. When he died, she married Daniel Hopkins.

Andrew Jackson Pangburn had either four or five children. William David Pangburn, the first child, died young. Elmer Pangburn might have had an identical twin by the name of Emmer. Or Elmer and Emmer were the same person. Emery Peter Pangburn, another son, was born during 1884. And the last child was Pearl Ann Pangburn born 1891.

If you have any further questions, please e-mail me directly at TomByram@worldnet.att.net

Does anyone recognize Pauline Myers, dau of Wm H. Myers (no mother listed). She was born in Madison Co, IN on 25 Aug 1898. I am trying to find out who her mother was.

There is a William H (dob - May 1870, IN) and Lucile (dob - Jan 1875, MI) Myers in the 1900 census for Anderson, Madison, IN that have the right ages and places of birth for each and their parents. This census includes Pauline.

Pauline does not appear in the 1910 census for my William and Lucile Myers, living in Hammond, Lake, IN. I know this is the correct family because they have the correct children. The children are listed in the WPA Birth Index for Lake Co, IN. The birth index lists the mother's maiden name as Pangburn or Pangborn.

Hi there!

I just read your post in reference to Ballston Lake in NY.

I believe that lake is upstate NY in the general area of Albany. If that is correct then it is the same lake that my father's family vacationed at. My Gr. Grandmother's name was Lillian Panburn-Pierce. Her father's name was Henry. Her husband's name was DeWitt Clinton Pierce they had 2 children Roy and Elizabeth (my grandmother) all hailed from the Albany area. That's all I know.

I am wondering if there is a connection somewhere. Do these names mean anything to you all?

Regards

Pierce Murphy

My grand-father's name was George Pangburn, he was born in the 1880's and was told he was a full blooded native Indian. He was married twice the second time to Margaret Shay. He had 12 kids. They lived in the Binghamton,NY area in the 1950's and 60's. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks, Carol
