Classification: Query
Surnames: Papin, Papine, Papineau, LaBelle, Kerwin, Burgoine, Jaffet
My mother: Patricia Jane Kerwin Pollie b. 9-11-1924 in Grand Rapids, MI; d. 11-23-1998 in Traverse City, MI

Her parents: FA: George Joseph Kerwin b 7-28-1888 in Grand Rapids, MI; d. 12-19-1942 in Grand Rapids, MI
MO: Hilda Emily (Emille) Papin b. 5-11-1888 in Grand Rapids, MI; d. 12-8-1977 in Grand Rapids, MI

George & Hilda were married in Grand Rapids, MI.

Hilda's parents: FA: Theophile Papin, b. ??; d.??
MO: Marguerite LaBelle (?LeBelle); b. ?? ; d. Grand Rapids, MI abt 10/22/1939. Marguerite's mother is believed to be Emily Burguoine. Emily was buried in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI on 10-05-1908.

Hilda Papin Kerwin's 4 or 5 yr-old sister, Josephine, died in 1897 of diphtheria. She is also buried in the Burguoine family plot in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI. Josephine's last name is spelled 'Papine' in the cemetery records.

Hilda's other siblings include brother Henry J. Papin, a distinguished wood carver in Grand Rapids in the late 1800's and early 1900's and sister Clothilde. Clothilde married an 'oil man' from Dallas, Texas, Mr. Dan Jaffet. (Jaffet may not be correct spelling.)

Will post more info as I uncover it. Will appreciate any sharing of information; I'll share what I have. Thanks.
