Hello again Rachel,

Yes, I did a quick search and found the San Guglielmo ship- Angela's father Francesco was in Messina, and she was travelling with her children and they were on their way to Philadelphia to Giuseppe.

Messina is on the northern part of Sicily, and my Parisis' came from Aragona on the south, but this does not mean there is no connection.

I can't seem to be able to connect Angela at all. Try the Messina boards, I remember a Lynn Bilinski had a lot of information on the Messina Parisi's, I beleive most stayed in Pennsylvania. We couldn't connect at all either. I don't recall her email addy, but if you put her name in quotes, then the words genealogy and parisi, into your browser, it should pull up all her posts on the web.

I really wish I could help further - If you do find a link to my Parisi's, I would love to know!

Have fun,

Cindy

Hello,

My great-great grandmother's name was Angela Parisi. Her father was Francesco Parisi. I found this information on the ship's manifest for the San Guglielmo. She is listed as 35 years old, therefore born around 1879. She arrived in New York on March 3, 1914 with four children: Nunzia, Nicolo, Maria, and Marco Aloisi. Her husband was Giuseppe Aloisi.

I am trying to find out information on her mother, as well as the Parisis. If you think this is the same Parisi branch you are gathering information on, I would be delighted to compare notes.

Best,

Rachel

My grandfather had a brother Vincenzo born 1852. He came to the US with two of his children who stayed but he went back to Italy. His children would be in the age bracket of your Vincenzo. Do you know what city they came from? My grandfather came from Arzano which is on the outskirts of Naples. All the Parisi/Parise are related some how. Caesar wrote of them in his Cetic war in 52BC. see site www.Roman-Britain.org If you can get any additional information for me I will try to make the connection.

Cindy,

Thank you for the reply. My Grandmother's full name was Gertrude Karton Parise and she was born in Pennsylvania in 1920. When she was 2 years old her mother died from pneumonia... my Grandmother was sent to live with an Aunt and Uncle (don't know any names or even which side of the family). We believe her mother's name was Ava Karton and we believe that Frank was shot in the war and continued to be bothered by that wound.

This is basically all the information we have.
Looking for a Frank Parise in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1920, married to an Eva (or Ava). Frank would have been born around the 1900's. This is my ggrandfather. His wife died when my grandmother was 2 years old, my grandmother was then sent to live with relatives. I would suppose that Frank re-married since he was still young. Any information that might help would be greatly appreciated!
