The marriage of Jean-Baptiste Leger dit Parisien and Luciann M? was recorded in the records of St Regis mission on the 29th of October 1846. One of the witnesses is listed as Rom Leger dit Parisien. I'm sure this must be your Romuel.

The baptism of their daughter Lucy A is also recorded at St Regis on Dec 24, 1848. In this record, the mother's name could be Mayre, but it's hard to read. I haven't been able to locate baptisms of their other children.

The couple are listed in US Census records of Bombay, Franklin CO, NY from 1850 through 1880. Their first names are given as John and Lucy. The last name is spelled differently each time (1850 Parrission, 1860 Parison, 1870 Perishand and 1880 Parishan.)

The 1850 census is particularly interesting. John is not present. Lucy (with son Charles and daughter Lucy) is living with an older couple... John and Mary Parrission. I think these may be John's parents (and possibly Romuel's too).

I am trying to connect John's wife Lucy. If anyone recognizes this family and can shed some light, I will really appreciate it!

Also... in the transcript of St Patrick's church records is the following:

Parisien, Romuel m1 Nov. 23, 1843 Ft. Covington Adelaide St. Denis both of Hogansburg. She appears as Adelaide Fornier in subsequent baptismal records

I haven't been able to find the original of this yet, so can't confirm the name.

Susan

Hi,
I just read your post about the Parisian Family. You have many names in your Surname List that appear in my genealogy. I have been unable to connect some of the Leger dit Parisien/Parisian. Can you help me?
Mary
