I'm researching the family of David Parker, who is most likely Mary's brother. David's son Ezra, had 13 children,
and Valetine's parents were called, William Parker and Dorothy Marriott.

This is in response to a 2000 message that you posted. Is there any chance that your family goes back to John William Parker and Mary Jane Osborne from the northern South Carolina and Union/Mecklenburg area of North Carolina? I have been researching this family for several years. I have one of their sons as "Joseph Parker", born October 1869. He appears on the census for Chesterfield County, SC in 1870 and the Mecklenburg, NC census for 1900. Our Parker family is descended from his youngest brother, Carl Rufus Parker, born January 3, 1884 in Union County, NC.
I've no reason to think your NY Parkers connect with mine, only wanted to mention that most NYers with sons/men of an age to go to war in a couplefew years will not be found on any 1860 census.

I haven't followed this, what county, town, city is this cemetery located in? Could it be anywhere the 3state area where PA NY NJ abut, or further west? After the Revolution many of the MA families that had gone to VT then to NY may have gone nearer the Canada & Great Lakes area.

Next. Any idea where in VT? Genealogists there have been very very helpful in my experience, but it's useful to have a clue what county & when. Sometimes luck is much better there in early VT than with Dutch reformed records in NY!

hi,
this what i have for answers to some of your questions. i do have more but these should answer some of the questions.
Chauncey, christian and victor are buried together in the mount view cemetery, but it is in New York not MA. I have been there and i have pictures of all the parker graves there.
there is one head stone for chauncey and christian together. It reads EXACTLY - CHAUNCY G. PARKER
1824 - 1891
CHRISTIAN
1827 - 1905
Victor Parker is on the right side. His stone reads -
VICTOR H. PARKER - BORN OCT. 12, 1867 - DIED NOV. 5, 1888
Our brother is gone but not forgotten.
The graves are of interest. Victors stone is an older style true to the times. It is also broken and laying flat on the ground. Chauncy and christian's stone is more newer looking, about 40's starting style.
The cemetery had actually been located in a different part of town. It was moved in the first year or so after 1900. so chauncy and victor would have been moved to the current location. also the 3 of them are about 50 feet or so away from the rest of the old section that would have been moved. i have tried to contact the person in charge of the cemetery and i have not gotten a response yet.
Victor had died from an accident at the company in PA that he worked. A large piece of machinery had forcably come off and hit him, he was knocked down and fell about 2 stories. the article in the paper reports that he was dead before he hit the ground.
As to why you can not find any one in the 1860 census. Chauncey went into the war. i have found the names of the children spread through out PA and NY during that time. the ages match up so i assume it to be them. but i can not be positive yet. christian i have not yet found. i have not found where chauncy signed up for the army. but i have found him in a regiment.
there had been a family story that acounts of chauncy often in the winter time wearing his union coat from when he was a soldier. there was also mention of him being in a prison at some time in his life in Anderson. if you look into it in the south there was a war prison for the confederate army called anderson prison. it was notorious for prisoners to be treated the worst at this prison and the death rate was very high with many soldiers not making it past 6 months of imprisonment. i found when and where his regiment was captured and sent to anderson. i have yet to find a record of him traveling on his way back home. he luckily had been captured at the end of the war and had only spent a few months there.
on a side note as well, i went to the cemetery after memorial day and chauncy did not have a flag on his grave. i am going to soon inquire to the local veterns assoc. as to how i can go about seeing that he get the recognition he deserves.
as for christian. she is buried in olean with her husband and son. there are 3 or 4 unused plots that she had purchased as well. her lines have been documented pretty well online. so you should not have a problem finding that. i have recently come across a person who is trying to find a document that list who her father is. they need this info to give proof that she is who she is and appearently her lines link all the way back to the mayflower. thats why the proof is needed.
i have not figured out who his parents are. he was infact born in vt. i have just recently gone back into researching him. i have found a few leads that i am trying to follow. but since the census for when he would have lived with his parents only lists the name of the head of household and not of any other members it will take longer as i have to find other sources. i am hoping to find a baptism cert.
so if i find out more i will post it here for anyone who has interest.
i hope some of this helps.

JAMES WILLIAM PARKER

I am still searching for any information related to James William Parker. He is the son of Caleb Isaac Parker and Elizabeth Sanders. My line goes like this: George Parker-Caleb Isaac Parker-James William Parker-Isaac Miller Parker-Will Davis Parker-Anna Marie Sherrin (Parker)-Denise Patricia Sherrin. I believe Chesley P. Parker of Van Zandt county is also James' brother. This Parker line started in Virginia (George & Caleb), then Tennesse, then Texas. Most of my Parker family lived in Van Zandt County after the 1860's. If any one could share some info with me, I would greatly appreciate it. I seem to hit stumps all over the place with my genealogy of the Parker line.

That is my great grandfather. If it will help, he has a daughter by the name of Lois Parker who married Willard Johanson, and then married William Creach. Lois died in November of 2007 and is buried in Sulphur, OK. I think the entire family is buried in Sulphur, OK, to be honest. The Parker family is from Sulphur and continue to live there. I am trying to get more info as well, so when I get it I will pass it on.

Do you know whereabouts in England Samuel PARKER was born?
I have a Samuel born 1810 at Rockland St Mary, in Norfolk, England. This Samuel (jnr) had 5 siblings. He was the son of Samuel PARKER, born 1772, and Mary REEVE, born c1788.
Could this be the same person?
I have no details of his life after his birth - recorded in the Parish Records of that village.
Gerry MOON

Hi
Thanks for reply
No, the Norfolk in England(at least in my part of Norfolk) were blacksmiths, wheelwrights, carpenters, ferriers, undertakers etc. all skills that I would have thought to have been useful in the US at that time
I guess this does not rule out the connection completely however as perhaps not all sons were so inclined.
Gerry

Benjamin Parker, Natural Son of Benjamin Wicker?

Benjamin Parker is listed on the Bastardy Bonds of Granville Co, NC 1749-1780, as the natural son of Elizabeth Parker and (?) Benjamin Wicker dtd. 7/21/1769. At time of bond, Benjamin Parker was 9 1/2 yrs old. Wording on archaic documents is difficult for me. I'm trying to discern wheter Benj Parker IS the son of Benj Wicker or just a Bond Servant, since the bond requires Wicker to educate Parker and train him to be a Planter. If you are related to Benjamin Parker 1760- c1825 Granville NC> Wilkes NC please email me. Benj Wicker is brother to my g-g-g-g-g-grandfather

Obituary: Alexander Wolfegang Parker

Alexander Wolfegang Parker was born June 19, 1991, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Alex attended Carson High where he graduated in 2009.He was the life of the party and from the time he learned to ride a bicycle, safety was seldom a word he really considered. It all caught up with him this past Saturday… and we feel so lonely now. We'll remember his laugh, his smile, his white Vans and those special things only parents know about. We are so proud of you. Now you're in the arms of Jesus. We'll see you there son, brother, friend. Until that day, we'll visit you in our memories. We remember things like “Go big or go home”, “FGBM”, and “My parents don't have to know.” See ya up there, Son.

DO NOT REPLY FYI ONLY

Hello again i thought i would drop a quick line about Edmund and Emily Parker.I found the family 1881 census on WWW.FAMILYSEARCH.ORG.You can see them and five children. Then if you look in Free bdm on net in 1891 Edmund and Emily and only one son Edmund as well.Edmund is 55 Emily 52 and Edmund son 27 The other 3 possibly at friends house on the night although there is no record of them in that particular area on census night elsewhere. Not to say that they could of died or moved out elsewhere. At Edmunds and Emilys age i would think they did not emigrate.Edmumd and Emily are also at Rootsweb.com if that is your details i do not know.Last thing Emilys maiden name is Nobbs. There is a marriage recorded in 1857 of Edmund Parker in Loddon area and when the spouse entered as emily it comes up so could be it.This is on Free bdm.Best of luck

I've learned nothing about Samuel prior to his arrival in Norfolk, Virginia. He took the oath of citizenship 28 Oct., 1840, at age 29, in Norfolk. According to Virginia and federal census records from 1850, Samuel was a grocer, born in England. He died in the yellow fever epidemic in 1855. Any idea if the Norfolk, England Parkers were shopkeepers or grocers?

I forgot to include in my earlier message of this thread that there is a brief sketch of Isaac Parker, Rev War soldier, at this site:
http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nelson/revwar/isaac2...

Thanks Karen, I'm glad to know that history. Both Arch & Jackie were dear people and very determined to solve the mystery of John and Mary. We miss them both. Jackie's youngest son Dave and Arch's son Russ (my husband) are trying to keep the search going.

I'll be sure to post if we find anything!

Diann Parker
Wisconsin
