There is (or was) a "Dennis" Parlier who several years back was compiling a huge volume of the Genealogy of the Parlier family. I live in Fort Worth and my "Parlier" family included lots of cousins from Georgia, Arkansas and other places but not from Dallas.
Maybe Dennis could help you to track down from which "Line of Parliers" these cousins descend.
At the time I contacted him, Dennis was doing his book in Genealogy.com ,and was living in North Carolina. That was several years ago.

Good Luck in finding him. Rich Pullen

Florene Mae Parlier m. Homer Newton Pullen

My Dad was H. N. Pullen Jr. He was born in Houston, Arkanses in 1919 and died in Fort Worth in 1991. His faather, was Homer Newton Pullen. Homer was born in Northern Georgia around Rhome at Senoia in 1880 and died in Fort Worth in 1937. Homer's wife was Florene Mae Parlier who was born in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky in 1895 and died in Fort Worth in 1931.
Florene's father was John William Parlier. He was born in Georgia. Her mother was Martha E. Lizziebeth Pullen, a sister to Homer Pullen's father, Benjamin Franklin Pullen.
Will Cleere married one of Florene Parlier's "Parlier" cousins and had one daughter, name not known. This daughter was born about 1895-1900. The Cleere's lived in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Will and his wife divorced about 1905 and the daughter and her mother went back to Georgia to live with the mother's parents. At that point, nothing more is known of them.
Somewhere in all this is the name "Pollinia Parlier" of Paulding County, Georgia. This may be the child's grandmother in Georgia.
If anyone can help clear this mystery up, I'd appreciate it. Please contact me at Richard Pullen (email) in Fort Worth. Thanks so much./RP

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. If you could share any information on the Parlier's, I would be grateful. I did find out a little more. My grandfather (Earle) was born in 1895 in Delavan Illinois and died in 1944. My great-grandfather's name was George Marion Parlier (d. 1913). He had a half-brother named Alfred Parlier (I think he also had more half-siblings). My great-great granfather's name was Marion Parlier (d. 1897) from Sangamon County Illinois.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Michelle

I have four brothers, Stephen, Michael, Robert, and Richard Parlier. I never was able to trace too far back because Earle left my father and my aunts when my father was only four years old.
Anyone searching for Parliers might try checking out Dennis Moore's website
called "Diggin' Up Bones" to see what they can find. I was able to trace my
family all the way back to France, and all the way forward to my mother! Go to:

http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/o/o/Dennis-J-Moore/in...

Good luck!

Like Ruth, I also attended Parlier schools. I lived in Parlier
from 1946 to 1974. In the town of Parlier there was a gentleman named Ed Jepsen who owned a haardware store, and was a novice historian. If you wanted to know anything about Parlier you asked him. I was fortunate enough to be given a collection of his notes and can give you a brief description of the settling of Parlier by your relatives.
Isaac Newton Parlier, the founder of Parlier was born in 1840.
In 1863 he married Mary Melissa Laird, of English descent. They had a family of nine brothers and sisters. In 1874, this family joined a wagon train, with their household goods and farm tools for a trip to Modesto CA. The six older children making the trip were: Katherine, Charles Allen, Carrie, George, Nora and Joseph. They stayed in Modesto for two years, but were not satisfied and after several trips to what is now Parlier, moved there in 1876 and homesteaded 640 acres.
They gave the Santa Fe Railroad a right of way across their property, and also gave land for the Methodist Church, the Parlier Grammer School and City Park. On their trip to their new destination they camped overnight at what is now the Fresno County Courthouse Park. One day while returning from
Tollhouse (Sierra Nevadas) he cut a few whips ffrom some young fig trees. He planted them upon arrival at home. One of the cuttings later became known as the largest fig tree in CA, and after further investigation by Ripley's, became the World's largest fig tree. In 1913, the I.N. Parliers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary under this tree with over 300 guests in attendance. In 1915, Mr. Parlier died and his funeral services were held under this tree. The tree collapsed in 1943 from soft wet ground and a high wind storm.
I could go on further, but it is getting late. Some day I will expand on this information. Any other questions feel free to e-mail me. Richard.....

What would you like to know about Parlier, Caliornia.?( I went to school in Parlier.) I moved to go to school in Berkeley.
The Parlier library has tons of pictures of the Parlier Family and I know where their house is. Prior to it becoming a "town"
Village in was called the Parlier Ranch. There was also a Japanese Labor Camp there. My parents and our small community built the Catholic Church across from the Budhist
Temple. The beautiful red brick Menonite Church was across the Street, from the Parlier home. Parlier is not the same anymore.....there were only 2,000 people when I live there.
(1955-1965) I still go back for reunions and to visit the
cemetary. Most of the people during that time were...Mexican American, Japanese(Sun-Sai) and Armenian (white Russian)
The Parlier's had (I think) inter-married, It was a wonderful town.
Their family gatherings in the 30's show a mult-racial crowd.

Allen Parlier, Perry Co. IL

Needing info on Allen Parlier, Perry Co. Ill. Riley & Hiram Parlier, bros of Allen? where married to Walker sisters, Margaret & Nancy. I think Nancy & Rileys sons were raised in the Allen Parlier home. BUT I did find where Riley was in Henry Co. Iowa in the 1852 census, and his son, "Jake" was in the 1860 census in Henry Co. Jacob was also in the civil war, Iowa infantry. Nancy & Margeret had an older brother, Blackstock Walker who moved from Perry Co. to Wapello Co. Ia in the mid 1840's. He is my gg-grandfather. Family stories state that he was Native American or at least part Native American. We think his father's name was Jacob Walker, but no real proof. Was Nancy & Margaret also Native American?
Did Riley follow Blackstock to Ia after his wife died? Any clues would be so helpful. Thanks, Willie Collins
