Although my name is spelled with an "a" I just learned recently through the 1920 Census that my Greatgrandfather John spelled his name with an "e". John had two older brothers; Joe and Charlie. All three were barbers in Manistee MI in the early 1900's. One moved to Pontiac MI and we never heard from him again. The other moved to Wisconsin - I don't know where. They came to the U.S.in 1871 with their parents Joseph Paschke and Mary (Barowitz)Paschke from Germany. The names of the towns in Germany are almost illegible on the census records, but they look like"Bessonfpirch" and "Serspfcburg". I can't find anything that even vaguely resemembles those names.

I happily share this information in hopes that someone out there may find it useful and in turn might shed some light on the whereabouts of my greatgrandfather's brothers or the towns in Germany that they came from.
