my grandfather who i never got to meet was Sgt robert campbell paterson of the 49 RAF squadron who was part of the dambusters. he died 4 months after, his plane shot down in germany on 23.9.1943. he was in the lancaster bomber plane AJ-Y"YORK". his father was robert aylmer hunter paterson who married wilhelmina campbell. all originate from scotland mostly edinburgh.
