Patersons in Texas ( Ohio?)

Also in Texas (Dallas), via Syracuse NY -- my father was from a line of Patersons in Westmeath, ON. Just curious, however; in the family tree my cousin has been working on, he shows a "Robert Paterson" who emigrated to America, "possibly Ohio" from Houston, Scotland. Robert's parents were James Paterson Agnes Barr. Does this ring any bells for you?
