MALONE — Theresa A. Patnode, 74, of Maple Ridge Apartments in Malone and formerly of Churubusco, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.

She was born in Montreal, Quebec, on Dec. 1, 1927, the daughter of Edouard and Diana (Trombly) Gervais.

She was married to Gerald Patnode on April 20, 1950, in Saint-Eusebe - de - Vercil Church in Montreal.

Mrs. Patnode is survived by her husband of 51 years; a sister Yvette Gervais of Montreal, Quebec; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Rita Gervais.

Mrs. Patnode was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Churubusco and later attended St. Joseph Church in Malone.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, with Rev. Howard McCasland officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Immaculate Heart Cemetery in Churubusco .

Donations in her memory may be made to Churubusco Fire Dept.

My grandmothers mothers name was Josephine PATNODE. It is believed that Josephines
father was Albert PATNAUDE born about 1833 in Canada (probably Quebec area)
Albert Patnode married a Mellissa E. Guiott/Guyette between 1860-1864. Were married in Vermont.
Moved to Barrington, R.I. Then on to Willimantic, Ct.
Had the following Children : Melissa b abt. 1864
Josephine (my great grand mother) b.14 June 1865
Eva Snowbird b.3 Feb 1867
Walter Lucious b. abt 1884 Drowned in Willimantic age 13 worked in the local Mills

I checked and there was no spouse listed for Jeddy. You may want to keep this link so that when you do get a marriage line for them you can see where you are on the tree.

ROCHESTER — Phyllis R. Patnode, 52, of Virginia Avenue in Rochester, N.Y., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1949, in Ellenburg Depot, N.Y., the daughter of Russell and Naomi (Miller) McNeil.

Phyllis is survived by her mother; her husband, Warren Patnode, whom she married in 1968; Along with two daughters, Lauri and Lisa; a son, Warren Jr.; and two grandchildren, Craig Patnode and Ashley Krupe, who called her "Nana"; two sisters, Brenda Rogers and Mrs. Wendell (Diane) Brooks; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Trudy McNeil, Dale and Patty McNeil and Robert McNeil and Mrs. Isabelle McNeil.

She was predeceased by her father; and two brothers, Miller and Bruce McNeil.

Phyllis was a loving person and well known for her "spunk" even through a long illness she showed a wonderful spirit and was an inspiration to all who came into contact with her.

Some of her most precious memories were made at Mooers International Campgrounds, where she had her little yellow cottage.

Calling hours were held at the James Gray Funeral Home in Rochester, N.Y., on Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, with funeral service on Tuesday at Gates Wesleyan Church. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Chateaugay Funeral Home in Chateaugay with cremation to follow at Green Mountain Crematory in Middlebury, Vt.

Donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation in her memory.

My ggrandfather Chauncy Blair married Julia Patnode (3rd wife) in Irona, NY May 7, 1888. She was born in 1861. He was born in 1845. He died at 51 in 1897. She was last know to be in Springfield, MA in 1936 at age 95. Her sister Emma was a witness at the wedding with her husband Oliver Blair who might have been Chauncy's nephew. I know much about Julia. Would like to know more and more about Chauncy. Got info?

Charlene: I have been in contact with S. Garland re: Sage and related families. She told me you were a Patnode desc. I am related to the Patnode fam. by marriage only. I have some info on the Patnode fam. There was a Wilbur Patnode, ae. 4, living with Louise Patnode, ae. 72, head of household, 1892 Parma Census...also in the household was Eunice Patnode ae 39. i am a little confused because Parma Union Cem. records show Eunice as Eunice French buried on the Andrew and Louise Cem. lot. Also buried there are a sister Mary French and a brother Levi Patnode. Maude Parker is also buried in the same cem.....Parma Union. I remember her...she lived on Hill Rd. I think. Has anyone obtained Wilbur's death cert. from March of 1939? He was buried in White haven Cem. What were the names of some of his siblings? I still think he might have been the 4 yr. old Wilbur living with Louise patnode in parma in 1892...perhaps his grandmother. TB

Plattsburgh — Mirilda M. O'Hearn Patnode, 71, of Underwood Avenue, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Mooers Forks on Feb. 28, 1932, the daughter of Louis and Cylinda Gadway.

Mrs. Patnode worked at Georgia Pacific Paper Mill for 32 years, retiring in 1993.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh.

Mirilda was an avid bingo player.

Survivors include her husband, Ellis Patnode of Plattsburgh; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mrs. Bruce (Pamela) Champagne of Plattsburgh and Colleen O’Hearn of Plattsburgh; one stepbrother, Kenneth Gadway of Schuyler Falls; and one granddaughter, Kelly Champagne of Plattsburgh; one stepson, Thomas Patnode of Cape Cod, Mass.; two stepdaughters, Andrea LeClaire of Malone and Amy Covey of Boston, Mass.

One sister, Gloria Vester, died earlier.

There will be no public calling hours.

A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens on the Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to the Our Lady of Victory Church Memorial Fund.

DANNEMORA — Francis "Sonny, Pat" Patnode, 73, of Bouck Street, died on Monday, Dec. 4, 2000.

Francis J. Patnode was born on May 27, 1927, in Lyon Mountain, the son of Dominic and Mary (Gendron) Patnode.

Sonny served in the U. S. Navy for two years and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked at Republic Steel for a number of years and retired in 1985 as deputy chief of operations and maintenance from Plattsburgh Air Force Base after 28 years of service.

Sonny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene K. Patnode. His first wife, Nora (Canning) Patnode, died March, 1966.

He is survived by three daughters, Sherry Varin and Marybeth Patnode-Gebo of Dannemora and Robin Patnode of West Chazy; four sons, James of Chester, Md., Donald of Saranac Lake, Jerry of Shasta Lake City, Calif., and Patrick of Ballston Spa; grandchildren, Nancy Hoyt, Laura DuBray, Lynne Varin, Jessica Barcomb, Justin and Jared Patnode, Jacob, Jed, Nora and Jerry Patnode, Nora Lee and Sarah Rougier, Kennedy Rose Patnode-Gebo and Taylor Patnode; three great-grandchildren, Erin and Andrea Hoyt and Brandon DuBray; and two sisters, Margaret Evertsen of Lyon Mountain and Blanche Gilpin of Saranac Lake.

He was predeceased by one brother, Leo Patnode; and three sisters, Virginia Wood, Arlene Parrotte and Grace Wilkins.

Calling hours were held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora.

Burial will be in the spring at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Lyon Mountain.

Memorial donations may be made to the Dannemora Fire Department.

CADYVILLE — Ransom G. Patnode, Jr., 80, of 227 Rabideau St. died Saturday, January 15, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in West Chazy on May 5,1919 the son of Ransom G. and Dora (Pickle) Patnode. He married the former Florence Belanger at the W. Chazy Wesleyan Methodist Church in 1939, she died in 1987.

Mr. Patnode worked first at the BFD Mill, then Diamond National and after 38 years retired as a paper maker from Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in 1983.

Survivors include a companion, Katherine Hart; one son, Rodney Patnode and his wife Gail of Morrisonville; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Dobbie-Fisch of Maidens, VA and Mrs. John (Charlene) Davis of Grottoes, VA; one brother, Raymond Patnode and his wife Mary of Cadyville; eight grandchildren, Deborah Schepker of Virginia, Lori Hia of Scottsdale, Ariz, Randy Patnode of Dannemora, Todd Patnode of Wasilla, AK, Scott Patnode of Melbourne, Fla., Tracy Calderon of Grottoes, VA., Brian Davis and Angela Davis of Grottoes, VA. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. The Patnodes I have lived in Corcoran, MN Village, Hennepin County (very near Plymouth, MN). There were other Patnodes from this area that married into my family line (Weinand, Delles, May). Hi. Tom. Yes Sharon and I are also in contact. We are having a heck of of time with Wilbur Patnode. His mother is Eliza Patnode don't know if she was married or not or where she came from. Wilbur is my Grandfather and was married to Lillian Sage Patnode Watson ( so long of the names). Wilbur had been in WWI and died in New York in 1939. I have been in contact with my Uncle Bert and none of them remember anything about him I guess they were young. But 4 of the older children lived in Mooseheart Illinois and the rest of them were in foster care until they got older. So any HELP would be helpful on WILBUR. Glad your in the FAMILY.

Hi Tom. No one on the death certificate. All I know that Eliza Patnode is in the 1900 census living with Josephine Lane and in the 1920 census Wilbur is living with Eliza and was single at the time. Maybe thats why Wilbur is not listed in the 1900 census with his mother maybe he was living with his Grandmother. Was she a Patnode the Grandmother and was Eliza Married? This is all a big puzzle.
