Surnames: Patrick, Ransom, St Paul, Pattrick
We have a family 'rumour' that one of my direct Patrick ancestors was originally named Ransom and changed his name when he deserted the Army (date unknown).
Our earliest record is of Richard Patrick (Pattrick) born in Holme on Spalding Moor, (Yorkshire East Riding England)in 1808 to John and Sarah (nee St Paul).
Richard settled in North Cave near Hull and later his family moved to Pontefract, England. We have no knowledge of any of the family emigrating to US, but I do have full details of many of the family from Pontefract in the early 1900s and down my own line to the present day in the UK.
