My great-grandmother was Esther Patterson, born in Ireland, January 1, 1850, and died August 30, 1880 in a log cabin near Alexandria, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Robert Patterson and Jane ___. In the 1850 census for Hanover Township, Chatauqua County, New York, appears her family. She married Leander Kellogg, who served in the Pennsylvania Cavalry in the Civil War.
