I am a Patterson and my father is from Americus, Sumter Cty. GA area his ancestors migrated there from VA. They also move to AL. But my g-g-g grandfather, Si Patterson had over 10 children, starting prior to 1870 and they married and had children. What is your Patterson ancestor's name.
