I am looking for any information regarding Archibald "Archie" PATISON/PATTISON/PATTERSON. It seems that his last name changed spellings quite often! I would like to find information on his parents/siblings and life, in general. (I have a possible match for his parents being Daniel and Mary, but no solid documentation to support this theory.)

Archibald PATISON was born in MO on March 11, 1837 and died April 06, 1921 in Moberly, Randolph Co., MO. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, Randolph Co., MO. Archibald was a veteran of the Civil War. Archibald married Sarah M circa 1862. Sarah was born March 1841. They had one child that I am aware of: Ernest Leo Patison.

Ernest Leo PATISON/PATTERSON was born November 17, 1880 in Glasgow, MO and died May 15, 1951 in Moberly, Randolph Co., MO. He married Bessie V SHEARER on March 22, 1904 in Moberly, Randolph Co., MO. Bessie was born December 01, 1881 in Renick, MO and died January 17, 1956. Both are buried in Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, Randolph Co., MO. They had the following children:

* Margaret Virginia Patison, b. April 07, 1905
* Ernest Leo Patison, Jr., b. July 05, 1909
* Helen Geneva Patison, b. January 25, 1912
* Robert M Patison, b. July 16, 1914
* Merle Henry Patison, b. August 08, 1922

PATTESON or PATERSON in Kent England

From a visit to the Canterbury Cathedral archives I have discovered that my gg grandfather James Paterson was the son of Theophilus and Ann Patteson (nee Wooten). He was baptised on Nov 26th, 1809 in Woodnesborough, Kent (near Sandwich). His brother William was baptised on October 18th, 1806.

If anyone is studying Patteson/Pattison/Paterson families from Kent, England I would like to exchange notes. The IGI has several Theophilus Patersons (various spellings), but it is difficult to pin down which is my ancestor.

I am a Patteson descendant. Thomas Patteson came to New Kent County, VA., where his son David Sr was born abt 1670.david Sr. begat David Jr,, Then he begat another David, Colonel David, our revolutionary war ancestor, and they all married into the Branch, Anderson and Turner families, of Richmond and Chesterfield county-eventually some of them married into the Winfrees and Warwicks of Lynchburg, Va.

My understanding is that we can be traced to Indian blood lines and do have a connection with John Rolfe. I have no documentation to support this, but I was told thics from early childhood.

Hi, Your question may have not been directed to me but because I was a party to this message bundle I wanted to reply that I have no knowledge of the Pattesons having Indian blood in any line. I do not rule this out as a possibility, but I have no proof to offer. Good hunting.

I am looking for my g.g.g. grandfather Patterson. He is the father of William Alexander Patterson. William was born in Palmyra, Marion Co., MO. I have found William after he married to Laura Newell on the 1900 and 1910 Monroe Co., MO. census. William was born in 1864, but I have not been able to find as a child in Marion, Monroe or Ralls Co. I know he stayed in that area until 1920 because he had 8 children born there. Any info on his parents will be greatly appreciated.

Spencer Patterson b. Feb. 13,1816-d. 5-8-1867
was my G-Grandfather. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Johnson 7-16-1840. Their first son was Thomas Spencer Patterson( My Grandfather) b. 9-16-1841-d. 2-14-1912.
Their 2nd. son was George Washington Patterson b.6-4-1843
d. 5-24-1888. They had 6 more children.
Spencer and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Patterson are buried in the Woosley Cemetary near Langston, Al.

I have just by accident come across your message to Wayne Patteson and I am the grand-daughter of Thomas Patteson, son of William Patteson of Ireland. Have you ever delved into the Patteson geneology and if so, can you help me with it as we seem to have the same spelling.

I live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and in early January of this year, I organised the first PATTESON reunion as far as we know in Australia. We had 75 turn up, which was a small number but met people we had never heard of, which was exciting. I now have the bug for continuing my search and would be so happy to hear of more Pattesons. Does your family know that John Coleridge Patteson is supposed to be related. He was an ordained Anglican minister and was a missionary in the Pacific Islands until he was murdered by the natives.

Looking for links to Spencer Patteson and wife Mary Johnson married 7-16-1840, settled in Huntsville and Guntersville, AL area. 1850 Marshall County census shows their two sons, Thomas M. born 1843, & George born approx. 1845 as his age is 6 at time of census. Thomas M. Patteson is my Great Grandfather. He was a Captain in the CSA in Russell's 4th Calvary. His daughter, Minna Myrtle is my Grandmother. He s buried in City Cemetery in Guntersville. His wife's name was Frankie Sorter. Any info might lead to more...:)

By any chance is the George Patteson in your family line related to a Thomas M Patteson from Guntersville, Al. born in 1843, and his brother George was born around 1845? The 1850 Marshall County census shows a George Patteson, son of Spencer Patteson, who was 6 at the time of the census.

Patteson without the r is my lines name also. Often I find the name spelt with the r, and it is just transposed error. My line is Spencer Patteson, from the Tenn. area, later settled in Marshall County, AL. He married Mary Johnson also from Tenn. 7/16/1840. They settled in Huntsville area, and also Gunthersville area. They had 2 boys according to the 1850 census for Marshall County. My Great Grandfather, Thomas M. and a younger brother named George. In 1850 Thomas was 8yrs old and George was 6 yrs old. Thomas was a Captain for the CSA in Russell's 4th Calvary, mustered out of Alabama. He is buried in City Cemetery in Guntersville. 1843-1922. He married a woman named Frankie Sorter, they had 2 girls, Virginia and Minna Myrtle. Minna was my Grandmother. If any of this helps let me know.
