I am looking for information on Stener or Stephen Paulson (b. abt 1799) and his family. He apparently emigrated from Svieo, Norway in 1857 with his daughters to join his son Paul in La Salle Co., IL. Paul came over the year before. Daughter Sara (b.1835) m. Lars Larson in Newark, Kendall Co., IL. Lars died in the 36th IL Inf of illness in 1862. They had 2 children Clara and Lewis E. Sara then married Christ Lind and moved to Beaver, Humboldt Co., IA. The Linds had 6 more children.

Sara's sister Caroline (b.1836), married John T. Johnson at Fox River Lutheran Church, La Salle Co. IL. They settled in Afton Twp., DeKalb Co. by 1880. Stener was living with them in the 1880 census. Caroline died in 1881 and was buried as Caroline Stinerdatter Johnson in Afton Cemetery. She is my gg-grandmother. She was also known as Caroline Stevenson.

Besides Paul, Sara, and Caroline, Stener also may have daughters Martha, Inger and Gundvor. Does anyone have information on the latter 3 or on descendents of Sara in IA?

I have a photo of my grandmother Edna Johnson Todd with Sara Lind and her daughter and daughter-in-law. I also have a photo of Sara with Martha.
