Plattsburgh — Miss Gina L. Pavone, 55, of Maryland Road, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at her home surrounded by her family, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 15, 1946, the daughter of Ernest John and Anna (Proterra) Pavone.
Gina graduated from St. John's School and attended Adirondack Community College and Data Processing School in Georgia. She worked for New York Telephone Company in Plattsburgh and Albany.
Gina had lived in Virginia and New Jersey, working for American Motors and transferred to California and Michigan working for Daimler Chrysler Corporation as a supervisor in Training Operations. She recently moved back to Plattsburgh.
Gina enjoyed music, piano and guitar, traveling, the ocean and bird watching.
She is survived by her mother, Anna Pavone of Plattsburgh; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Bergevin of Plattsburgh and Rosemary Brenner of Plattsburgh; her beloved companion, Michael O'Hare of Saratoga; nieces and nephews, B.J. and Brian Bergevin and Beth (Bergevin) O'Rielly, Kimberly (Brenner) Koepsell and Kevin Brenner; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tanner and Claire Bergevin, Brendan and Kevin O'Rielly and Zachary and Brittany Koepsell; several cousins, especially JoAnne Dandrow, who she considered a sister; and her faithful pet, China.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to Hospice of the North Country or Gilda's Club.
