Yes I have her as Nancy Alport. Any idea who her parents & siblings were? Nane may also be spelled Allport.

Good luck with you search. Yes I've been to the cementary as I live here in Caroline Co. I am related to the Southworth's & my husband is related to the Pavy's.

My husband is descended through Joseph Hiter Pavy (d. 1865) and his wife, Sarah Barlow Pavy.

It is only in the last few weeks that we have taken up this search for his Pavy relatives and with the help of many kind friends we have been able to find a lot of information.

There is a graveyard in File, Va. (near Sparta and Milford) that has a number of Pavy graves. If memory serves me there are a number of Southworth graves there also. Have you seen this cemetery? There is a link on Find a Grave- and I will be downloading more pictures to the link very soon.

Also the book of Ruth Pitts, "As I Find It" has been a wonderful help to us in our search.

Need parents & siblings for Guillaume William Pavy & his wife Nancy, also need her last name. I have him b abt 1800 in France but not sure this is correct. Their son Thomas Lewis b abt 1835 marr Margaret Southworth 21 July 1853. Margaret was the dau of J. Archilles Southworth & Catherine Mahala Seal. Also need children for Thomas & Margaret.

Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of this book: "The Pavy Family of Ohio"?

I have a microfiche of it on loan from the Sutro Library of California but to print all 500 or so pages would cost me $150.

Any lead would be appreciated.

On ancestry.com's marriage date bases, there is one for a Peter H. PAVY to a Lucy BABBITT on 18 Feb 1825 in Gallatin co KY. Peter H. PAVY is also listed on the Campbell co KY 1830 census on p. 246. Jan

If you have on-line access to HeritageQuest then you may not need a copy of the book.

HeritageQuest is an on-line document storage service that many local public libraries subscribe to. In my hometown, we are even able to access the library's subscription from any web connection (i.e. I can access it from home through my internet service provider; simply type in my library card number in a log-in screen).

HeritageQuest also has lots of Census images available on-line, and has some years indexed more completely than Ancestry.com. That's a pretty good bargain since my library card was free (yeah, I know I pay for the library through my property taxes so it isn't really "free").

My file contains a Lucinda Rebecca Pavy, d/o Peter Pavy of Kenton Co., KY. Peter had two wives: Margaret Adams and Lucy Bobbitt. Peter married Lucy 1825. NO documentation.
Also, contact Marsha McWilliams <rmmcw@effingham.net. She is co-ordinator for the "Pavey Cousins."

Mary, Thanks for the help. I had suspected she was Peter and Lucy Bobbitt Pavy's daughter especially since their son in law, Joseph Bridges was her guardian. However, Lucinda's approx dob is 1839 and supposedly Peter and Lucy died in 1836 - hence my confusion. Thanks again, Gayle

I was born in Gary Indiana in 1960 where my family lives to this day.
My grandfather was James Alfonso Pavy born in 1913 died 1981 and came to Gary from Missouri.
He and my grandmother had nine children.
