PAXTON Doris Merchant Paxton Of Luray, VA formerly of Arlington, VA went home to be with her husband, George, and her Lord and savior on Thursday, April 30, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late George Benton Paxton who predeceased her by seven years. She is survived by her loving children; George, Jr., Ellen Rea Plaugher, Steven Dale, William Theodore and Thomas Edward and her dear granddaughter, Terri, whom she lovingly raised as a daughter. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Bradley Alan and granddaughter, Dori Rea. Doris was one of seven children and is survived by four sisters; Edith Fairfax, Gertrude Sullivan, June Nordeen and Jane Edelen and one brother; Aubrey Merchant, Jr. Friends may call at Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St., (Rt. 7), from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5 and where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6. Interment National Memorial Park Cemetery.
