My g.g.grandfather was John Payne born in England about 1803.He was transported to Tasmania, Australia, on the convict ship Earl of St Vincent in 1926.He married Maria Flynn and they had 1 son, also named John, born in Hobart Town, Tasmania.Australia about 1843. He married Jane Willhelme in Bacchus Marsh Australia in 1866.They had 14 children,Margaret b d 1867, Frederick b1868, Louisa b1871, Emma b1872,Margaret b1874, John b1880, Thomas b1879, Joseph b1880, Agnes b1882, Richard b 1884, Ethel (Ettie) b1886, Elizabeth ( Maude) b1888, Bert b1890 and Elsie b1893. Richard the 10th child was my grandfather he was born in Stewarton near Benalla, Victoria, Aust.I am interested in any information including parents, siblings, etc of John Payne (g.g.grandfather)prior to him leaving England.
