Peas in Boone County, Iowa

My family history on the Holton side was reported to descend from Nancy Maria Pease born 6 April 1831 in Dayton, Ohio to John and Martha Pease. I was never able to come up with anything on John and Martha. Nancy was reported to have married Dr. Daniel Sherman Holton on 10 March 1851. I found a record of a marriage on 18 August 1851 between D.S. Holton and Mrs. Nancy M. Lillybridge. In poking around in Iowa history books I found that Dr. Holton lived with John Pea in the late 1840s and married his daughter Nancy. So it appears that the family bible has the wrong information about Nancy. Does anyone tie into the Pea family in Iowa? Evidently John was one of the first settlers in Boone county.

9/9/05
I am directly related to Martha Ann Steele Wilson Hawthorn. She was my Gr Grandmother on my Dad's side. My Dad's Mom was Martha Ann Steele #1Wilson and #2 Hawthorn.
Her Dad was William Steele and her Mom was Mary Darwin Pea. William's parents were John Steele, Jr. and Susanna Jackson. I have info I don't mind sharing and would like to get in touch with any other "family members". In my family I am the only "Californian", the rest from NE, MO, CO, IA, IL, etc. Hope to speak to you all. And I am also trying to get in touch with this Cameran Hadlock, but can't seem to do it. If anyone can help there I would also appreciate it. Thanks so much for you time, trouble, and help.
Lynne (Hawthorne/Secord/Steele/Jackson) Rodriguez

Elizabeth (Betsy) J Pea
I'm trying to find out what happened to my Great-Grandmother, Elizabeth ( Betsy) J Pea. She was born around 1847 in Knox, Indiana to a Irvin D Pea (1817) and to a Diana Catt ( born 7/17/1839).

Betsy was married to Martin Van Buren Duff Jan 7, 1864 in Knox, Indiana. They divorced some time between 1875 -1880 in Cumberland Cty, Illinois. The four children stayed with their father, but Betsy just seemed to disappear from sight.

If anyone has any information on her it would be greatly appreciated.

Anita

Mary Pea married to William Armer

I am looking for info on them. I have a death certificate of John Heber Armer that identifies the subject as his parents. John was born in Cumberland County, IL. 7/31/1854 and died 12/25/1924. It is thought that John had 4 siblings. According to John's death certificate, as explained by the "Informant" who was Marilda Bumgartner (wife), living in Bartlesville, OK----William was born in Ohio and Mary was born in NY. If you can provide more info on John's siblings or the subject's parents, please contact me at barker@writeme.com
