I have recently read Pioneer Voices by Cynthia Peabody Anderson. My family and hers have evolved from the same "root", John Pabody of Duxbury Mass. Our lineage is as follows: John (1), Francis (2), William (3), Stephen (4), Richard (5), Samuel (6), Enoch Wood (7), Charles Enoch (8), Norman Penfield (9), Jean (10), Susan Macaulay (11), Grace (12). There is one more generation with whom we have lost contact in my particular group.
