ROBERT PEACE Robert "Bob" PEACE, 77, passed away April 25, 2009, in Las Vegas. He was born July 31, 1931, in Hammond, Ind., and moved to Las Vegas in 1967. He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Nancy; and six children, Sheila, Kenneth, Timothy, Teresa, Ronald and Nancy. His son, Robert preceded him in death. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Zach, Carley, Robert, Justin, Jordan, Chavon, Jessica, Emilio, Andrej and Amber; five great-grandchildren, Dayton, Logan, Austin, Alyssa and Samantha. The son of William and Thelma PEACE, Bob is also survived by his sisters, Frances, Wertis, Betty Jean, Shirley, Sandy and Judy. Bob was employed in the gaming industry for many years, starting as a craps dealer and rising to the position of floorman. Early in life, Bob served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal for his valor. He took great pride in all of his family and their many accomplishments in life. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed camping and the outdoors. For over 40 years, Bob especially enjoyed playing Santa Claus at Christmas for his family and the families of many of his friends. Bob stressed to all of his children the importance of having a quality education and set an exemplary example for them to follow. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 30. Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, both at Palm Mortuary 800 S. Boulder Highway, in Henderson. Interment will follow at 1:20 p.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
