Isaac Wallace was the third of 5 children of William and Jedidah G. McLaughlin Peach, born in Gloversville, NY. His parents were from Liverpool, Nova Scotia. They had two sons, Arthur Wallace and Jay Gordon. Arthur was the poet laureaute of Vermont, Pres. of the Historical Society, college professor in Vermont, and a writer of many books. He had three sons, two of whom are my regular subscribers. One son, Bruce, of Boston, has passed away. I have written a book on the history of the Marblehead, MA Peaches, of which he descends. Let me know if you are interested in this. John H. Peach

There were two sons, Ronald and Norman. Norman went by the name of Bud. We have come across a document with one of them being named Landon, my dad guesses it was Ronald. As a kid he hung out a little bit with these guys, they were his first cousins. We have pictures. We are trying to locate them, they could have great images of Isaac Peach and Jenny Tucker. J.Gordon's wife was Elsie, that is all my dad knows (does not know the maiden name) Don't know the name of his firm, know that he was a corporate lawyer. We think the sons ended up in New York State, Ronald may have been a director 20 years ago of the NYC Natural History Museum. I would love to see J Gordons geealogy and add it to my Macfamily software. I have been working on the genealogy of my dad with his brother. We have quite a bit of the Barrows info (my dad'd mother's side) but not much of the Isaac Peach lineage.
Thanks

Hi and thank you for the Hyatt info. I actually was able to get a copy of the book you mention a few years ago. (I can't believe how old some of these posts are, and I am surprised when people respond to them - pleasantly surprised of course.) Christopher Clark Hyatt's grandson Hyatt Price Hamilton was a first cousin of my mother, and I was trying to track down some information about their Hamilton family a while back. Many Peaches intermarried into both the Hyatt and Hamilton families and I was able to make a connection a few years ago. Sadly, though, both my mother and our Peach/Hamilton cousin that we connected with have died. I have put most of the family research on the back burner for now. Thanks again, for getting in touch!

The dates on the headstone we as follows: J R Peach, b. 23 June 1915 d. 18 Mar 1999; Lola Belle b. 14 Apr 1917. No death date given so was presumably living as of 1999. Therefore the Shelton info I found does not match my Lola Bell. Will keep searching. Thanks

I have had seven books published on the Peach genealogy. One of these includes your Kansas Branch, showing its first five generations. Although it doesn't include a lot about your branch, it shows how your roots go back to 1066 in England. The first five chapters are on the English history of the Peaches and Peacheys. Then it shows how some 30 branches of Peaches came to America. It is The Peach/Peachey Migrations, 1066-1990. It's over 400 pages hard bound, fully indexed. After you get the basics from the book, let me know, and I will give you an update on all I have on your family. If you want the book, please email me at Peachroot@aol.com, and I will give you the info. on how to order.

I have seen "my" Mary Heywood listed as Mary McManamy ... and "my" Mary Heywood married (?) John Peach of Malvern and they had 11 children. I can find no listing for their marriage, only that they claim it happened in Adelaide (cannot find it) - and I've recently come across a John Peach who was a convict in Australia, arriving aboard the "Somersetshire" in 1842 - everything fits in with him at the moment (I've only just found it, so I haven't got too much information on this John Peach yet - could be a deadend)- but, I've never been able to find out how "my" John Peach got to Australia - and the age fits, plus the "Tasmanian" John Peach was free by servitude and came to Melbourne the year their first child was born. I cannot find where "my" Mary Peach died. Do you think there's a tie, they are all the same people? You can contact me here, or email me at: rivett@alphalink.com.au.
Roger, I have more info. on Rev. John Sawford Peach in my book, THE PEACH/PEACHEY MIGRATIONS, 1066-1990. This book will trace the lineage of the Peaches from one common ancestor in England, William de Peche I. It shows the parents of Rev. John to be John Peach and Jane Sawford and his grandparents as Joseph and Sarah Peach. I show the ten children of Rev. John - their names and dates. I hope to hear from you and keep in contact.
Agree -- the 1910 census in Justice Preceint 1, Frio, TX
She was 11 months old and since the 4-May-1910, Lola Belle's probably birth date is abuot 4-June-1909.

Her father was listed as 58 years old, mother as 39. All the children were born in Indiana except Lola Bell and her youngest sister Ilo who was 3 at the time of the census. The next child up in age was 6 and born in Indiana. Ergo they migrated to Texas from Indiana some time between 1904 and 1907.

When you are researching Indiana records, you may not find the woman's name as "Maggie". Since the difference in the father and mother's ages are almost 20 years, it is probable this is a second marriage.

Hopes this assists.

I am researching the PALLANT family who come from Aldeburgh, Suff.

A great-aunt Jessie Corinne PALLANT married Frank Lewis PEACH in 1909. I think this Frank may be another child of Henry and Mary. I am trying to confirm whether our Jessie died in 1922. It would appear that Frank might have re-married in 1924 to a Lilian DAWSON and then had children Harry (Pasco?) PEACH and Agnes M PEACH.

There's a fair bit of guesswork on my part, but does any of this sound familiar?

Thanks for your time,
Liz in Norfolk, Eng

Now have death certificate for Jessie. She was the wife of Frank Lewis Peach, a gardener (domestic), and they were living at Rycote, Wheatley, Oxfordshire on 30/12/1921.

It definitely sounds like it is the right man, but as you say, the marriage cert would provide better information.

Regards,
Liz

Thank you for your swift reply.

I ordered Jessie's death certificate yesterday and will let you know what it says when it arrives. That might clear up if this is the right Frank Lewis, although I did only find one Frank Lewis Peach on FreeBMD, the one you mention as coming from Wales.

I would be interested to find out how these people met. The Pallants have been mariners/lifeboatmen in Aldeburgh, Suff for generations. I know there was a lot of movement to London in the late 1800s but even so it would be nice to hear how the daughter of a mariner and a gardener met up. Interestingly, my grandfather James Rodney Pallant, and brother of Jessie, married the daughter of a gardener, James Bowler, who worked at big houses in the Esher area. And another sister married a footman who worked for the Duke of Bedford. So perhaps it just was that they were moving in those sorts of circles? Actually thinking about, thats not a bad idea. Jessie's father looked after the yachts of notable people who holidayed/kept boats in the area, so perhaps he was able to get his children jobs in their households?

Glad you had a lovely holiday, I spent my 21st birthday on the Isle of Wight lots of years ago now. And it sounds like you had the best of the weather then because it was miserable in Norfolk last week!

Will be in contact soon with death certificate details.
Kind regards,
Liz

Frank Lewis Peach

Hi Liz,
Sorry for late reply. Have been on holiday on the sunny Isle of Wight, and yes it was sunny all week, so lucky. The friend that I am helping with the Peach research is now on holiday, so I may not have all the info.

We, too found the Peach/Pallant marriage and wondered if Frank had married twice. Have you the marriage certificate to check their parents' names? I hope to be going to Kew in early November so could check the marriages then. We found both marriages on FreeBMD. As Frank was born in March Qtr 1884, Pontypool 11a 157, he would have been around 40 at the second marriage, so could well have been a widower.

We live in Hampshire and I have found the following at our Hants Record Office:

Harry Pasco Peach bp. March 1st, 1925, son of Frank Lewis (occ. gardener) and Lilian May Peach, address West View, Brook Lane, we presume at Sarisbury, as that is where the baptism was.

Agnes May Peach was born in 1926, I think, but drowned as a young child. I have seen the headstone at Barton Stacey, Hants, and I think the family lived at nearby Newton Stacey. I don't have it all to hand.

I think we are correct in thinking that these are the Peach family we have found in the 1881 and 1901 censuses in Wales, as the Christian names seem to run through the family, that is Harry Pasco and Agnes.

We know from our Hants research that Frank was a gardener at the Laverstoke Estate near Whitchurch, Hants. He was buried in Laverstoke. I haven't his year of death on me, but I know he was no great age, and Lilian was left to bring up three young children on her own. There was another daughter and another son after Agnes' sad death. I knew some of these people.

If you haven't found the Peaches in the 1881 and 1901 censuses, please ask. Hope this helps,

Regards,

Sheila

P.S. I holiday in North Norfolk sometimes. Have stayed at Sheringham, Cromer, and Overstrand.

The marriage cert for Frank and Jessie would probably tell more than the death cert as you'd get both fathers' names. If it's the Frank from Wales, his father should be Henry, and occup probably shopkeeper, if his father was still alive when Frank married. Will look for Henry's death on FreeBMD.

Are you a member of Genes Reunited? I've had a look on there and lots of people have Suffolk Pallants right back into the 1600s!

Sheila

Their parents were:
FRANCIS PEACH 1871 and MARY born 1876.
The parents of FRANCIS (FRANCES) were:
RICHARD PEACH born 1830, Burton on Trent and ELLEN born 1835 in Holloway, Derbyshire.
Richard and Ellen had 6 other children:
Rihard 1856
Thomas 1859
Emilly 1862
Alfred 1869
(Francis 1871)
Edmund W. Peach.
I would love to hear from anyone who has any information about this PEACH family.
Thank you.
