I can only search the Arkansas death from 1914-1950.
If you could get his wifes' obit, maybe you would learn if she was a widow or survived by husband...her death certif I would guess would also state married or widow..

Do you know how I can access the Arkansas Death Index to try to find the date of death for William Franklin Peek? Grandma Looper-Peek's gravesite was know however information you gave is info I did not know about her even though she lived with us for most of my first 9 years. Grandpa is the one I am having a very difficult time with. I thought I would locate him in the 1880 Census but so far no luck. Thank you for your help.

I'll take a look at the entries. I know that Keith Sanderson who was a cousin passed in June of this year. I want to try further and see if I can find info that will give the names of both of William Franklin Peek Father and Mother. Maybe U.S. Census in 1880 or If Missouri has a state census. I don't know but thank you so much for your help. I know so little having met the man only one time in my life in 1956 for only a few hours at the age of 8.

Thank you Shelly very much for the information. You asked if I have the exact date of death. No only the year, 1958 His Obituary: NO do not know which newspaper it would be. Death Certificate: No I don't know if I have to already have the Certificate number or other info. I don't as yet know the name of the city or township in Arkansas he died in nor do I know which cemetery he is buried in. The Mary Looper listed on the Census is actually the mother of NellieHer full name is Mary Ann (Molly) Frizzell-Looper Born:Abt 1844. I also do not know where William Franklin Peek was born in Missouri.

Nellee Kathleeen Looper was Born in 1874 in Arkansas and married William Franklin Peek. I don't have much information on her.
She gave birth to William Fred Peek, my great grand father and probably a few other kids. I have some information on this side of the family, but need to confirm it still.

Hi...I am Kelly Peek Blackwood. I think I can help you. I have an Uncle Otis and Aunt Dot who I know have a son named Jim. I don't know much but I have been studying them some. Also my other uncle Vernon has traced the line back a good bit. My grand-father is Ocie Augustus Peek, he was married to Alma Comella Peek..she was originally a Reid. I have the line traced way way back but it's too much to post on here at one time. I can print it out and mail it to you if you like. Or give you a little on here at a time. Our name on back changes spelling it goes to peake and peck. Pretty interesting things. Do you happen to know if your dad has sisters because Aunt Dot and Uncle Otis have a set of twins Linda and Brenda and a daughter named Dianne.

There are two strains of Peeks in the Hoo Peninsular.
Thomas Peek 1795 married Mary Moore produced Thomas Peek 1818 married Sarah White Hoo St Werburgh 1845 and had several Peeklets.(literate)
John Peak & Ann Peake produced Thomas Peek in High Halstow in 1817. He married Sarah Baker in 1837, just before official records began, in Frindsbury (near Hoo) and also had Peeklets.(illiterate) the area was awash with Peeks (especially Thomas Peeks)Parish records are available for free! on Medway Cityark.Census returns require Peek; Peck; Peak, etc - not just phonetic search. Family Search site for Thomas Peek is incorrect.
1881 census show James Peek with family(inc another James) living Bells Lane Hoo; Also another James Peek of High Halstow Hoo living in Birling with his second wife and sprogs.I would suggest you go from John & Ann Peek via Joseph & Betsy all High Halstow.
A word of warning - they lied about their ages on census returns.

Wm buried at Sugar Fork, Macon, Warren Co NC. David is son of Wm. 1755-1843 and Elizabeth Shockley 1750-1840. Other children of Wm Montgomery and Mary are Ruth Elmira 1833-1864, Susan C. 1837-1857, James Montgomery 1839-1917, A.L. 1841-1845, Manerva Avaline 1843-, Judith 1847-1880, Martha Henderson 1848-1900 and Phoebe Jane 1850-1942.
If you don't have access to Ancestry.com records you might try a search for Joann Sovelenko who posted this information or think Ancestry will give you free for a couple weeks. Hope this helps some.

You didn't mention any dates for your Wm so will tell you what I see on the elder one, there are several.
Wm Montgomery Peek born 1/12/1809 Laurens SC, died 11/22/1891 Macon NC married Mary Avaline Mull had known dau Mary A. 1834-1915. Wm was son of David Peek 1777-1849 and Mary Henderson 1785-1859. If this isn't him tell me some dates to connect the right one. There are tombstone pics online on Ancestry.com of this family.
