Ricky,

I don't believe our lines cross this side of "the pond". Your line traces back to Thomas Peel who immigrated from Ireland to AR. My line traces back to 1800 NC (Reuben Peal) who (I believe) descends from Lawrence Peelle who immigrated from England to Virginia.

I don't think any researcher has ever been able to find a connection between the two yet.

Sharon

Peggy,

I have information on Calvin Monroe Peel, son of Francis Henry Peel and Sarah Louvinia "Lou" Stephens. Calvin had brothers Frank, John Olen, Sylvester, Charlie and Walter E. I show one sister, Janie. Calvin Monroe was born abt 1891, probably in Arkansas.

Is this the right fellow?

HiCynthia, my name is David Hancock and in live in Townsville Australia. I just happened to browse the net for the surname of Peell as my step-father was Peell. Therefore I have his family living in Melbourne and this name is very unique in Australia.

If you have any record of a Peell coming to Australia, I would be interested.

All the best with your research. ta david

Hi,

I have tried a number of times to find a William E Peel, probably born in Ireland, around 1874.
I know that he had two sons, Richard and Eric, in Camberwell, London, and was married to Florence K Snook.
A family friend told me that William had gone off to America after the marriage, but I am unable to find birth or death records. It'd be great if someone could shed some light on this, because I think I've reached a dead end!

My ancestor Lawrence Peelle came to Virginia with the London Compnay, sailing from England in late 1620 and arriving in Virginia spring of 1621. Lots of info posted on my web site about the American Line at peele.info. But I have not yet been able to get Lawrence tied into the English family. We are kin but just haven't gotten that critical brickwall solved.

Horace Peele, Texas

As far as I know, Rev. C.C. Peel's mother's maiden name was Mary Jane Babb. He had a sister-in-law named Margaret Ann Smith Peel, though. I am not a Peel researcher, and the only reason I know a little bit about him is because he was one of the first three Elon graduates and is buried here in my hometown.

Hello,
My ggg grandfather was an Edmund Peel born 1791 in Norfolk. Not Edmund Yates Peel.

I have found a parish record for an Edmund Elsegood Peel born in Aug 1791 whose mother was Elizabeth Peel.

I know that line is related to the Sir Robert Peel of police force fame because my grandmother not only stated that her parents were in his will, but she had "London Bobby" artifacts that I have actually seen and handled.

Does anyone know who this Elizabeth Peel's parents were?

Any help with this brick wall would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Cynthia (Melbourne Australia)

Hi Horace,

I only have this record from the IGI:
Edmund Elsegood Peele born 3rd August 1791, chr: 17th August 1791 Heigham, Norfolk, M= Elizabeth Peele (IGI – batch C133411 – no other’s in batch). Since the Peel/e family seem to change the spelling of Peel/Peele/Peell I feel that this is my Edmund.

An Elizabeth Peele dau of Robert Peele and Rose was chr: Keighley Norfolk 27th July 1766. Perhaps my Edmund is this chap and was illegitimate.

He and his wife Rebecca (Jessup) appear in most of the censuses, but with no other Peel visitors.

I guess I am clutching at straws!

I also printed every family tree relating to Robert Peel on the internet, including the peerage one - and they are all different.

Thanks
Cynthia

John Peel/Daisy Stout Lawrence Peel-Buchanan County MO

I’m looking for information on Daisy Stout and her daughter Ella Lawrence.

Daisy born 1880 first married William Ed Lawrence in Marshall County KS late 1890s. They are on the Buchanan County MO, St Joseph, 1900 census with one month old baby Ella.

In 1904 Daisy Stout Lawrence returned to Marshall County KS and married John Peel born 1871. John was the son of Benjamin Peel and wife Lucy. Benjamin was a prominent farmer in Bloomington twp, Buchanan County MO.

By the 1910 census John is living in Bloomington Twp, Buchanan County, MO with a different wife.

When Daisy's father Peter Stout died in Pottawatomie County KS in 1927 his obit says he was preceeded in death by daughter Daisy many years ago. It does not mention his grand daughter Ella.

Since I can't find any mention of Ella anywhere I'm wondering if maybe daugher and mother died together in some type of accident? It would probably have been between 1905 and 1909. If anyone has access to St Joseph MO newpaper archives for the early 1900s I'd be very thankful if you could look for these names.

I'd really appreciate any info on what may have happened to Daisy and/or her daughter Ella Lawrence. Thanks in advance. Donna
Re: Peel's in Nova Scotia

Earle Archibald Peel is in my database of Peels from Nova Scotia. His father was Charles Elven Peel who was a son of William Peel and Almira Schurman.

Charles Elven was a brother of my ancestor Weldon Starr Peel. Charles Elven was married twice and Earle Archibald is a child of the second marriage with Elizabeth Cochrane Dunsmore.
My records show that Earl Archibald had two sisters and some "step" siblings.

Please reply if your are still interested in this family.
