Pelak from Bohemia / Czech Republic

I am looking for anyone named or related to Pelak with origins in Bohemia. All known Czech Pelaks are coming from small village named Radošice (Radosice or Radoschitz) in Western Bohemia.
There is at least one known member of the family who migrated to USA – Barbara Pelak, daughter of Josef Pelak; came in 1907.
Pelaks from Radošic are one of the families I am most interested in. While all Czech members were contacted I would like to know more about foreign family members especially those who migrated to USA. I am able to provide information on the family history back to the 18 century.

I don't think so. My people from Wola are not actually Polish but Rusyn. The first name of Stanislaw seems to be Polish. Your family is probably from another village in the county of Jaslo.

Perhaps, but if so, it'd be cousins (Bolislaw and Stanley) at best. To my knowledge (and verified by obits) there was only Stanley, Albert and a sister who remained in Poland. Both Stanley and Albert remained in Grand Rapids, as did most, if not all, their progeny. I haven't heard of any other family coming to the US.

It's frustrating because the area they came from changed hands so many times. And many times, the names - surnames and given - change with their immigration.

I'll keep your inquiry in mind as I continue banging my head against the brick wall and let you know if I find any connection or lead that might be beneficial for you. You never know!

My grandparents are Pelak (Bolislaw and Anne). Do you kn ow if they are any relation to you. I am looking for a Poland string to the Family tree. For some reason my grandparents avoided talking about Poland. I know my mom had an Uncle Stanley and a the entire family lived in Hamtramck and Detroit in the same general area.

DO you have any male Pelak (cousins) from this line that you could get a DNA sample from? I did a lot of research on my Pelak side but was unable to find documents linking to other Pelak families that came to USA. My Pelak came from Kotow where at least half of the houses had someone named Pelak living in them at one time! I also have ancestors from Labowa and Kamianna, etc... I did get quite a bit of information from our cousing Dan Pelak years ago. I have Albert's parents name and his grand parents names. I would love to hear from you. I think I last saw you at your fathers funeral, 5 or 6 years ago. I always thought Albert & Stanley came to America together, when they were like 17 and 18 years old.

albert pelak was my grampa, my mothers name was irene pelak hay. i know he had a brother named stanley. alberts wife was victoria. they had 4 chidren. one died as a baby then their was joseph pelak, irene pelak and donald pelak. i have pictures.

I noticed that we both had Stanley Pelak's from Michigan in our family tree but wanted to let you know that the Stanley I was referring to was born in 1928 and not in 1982.

Thought I'd save you the trouble. :) I know we're not related on the American side but I'm sure SOMEWHERE down the line we're cousins. I"m not planning on tracing my family history outside of the US though.

My name is Lauren Pelak, daughter of Lawrence Pelak.

Lawrence is one of 5 children born to Stanley and Jane.

Stanley's father is Michael (sometimes spelled Mitchell on Public records) and he was born around 1886 in Poland and immigrated to the US.

My great grandfather Michael had 9 children:
Frank, Julian, Bill, Anne, Stanley, Irene, John, Margaret, and Leonard. All of his children went on to have equally large families.

my version could be the Anglicization of it. here is what i know.

here is what the family has passed down.

Michael Schued - was born in either Poland or Ukraine. Came to America not sure when.

Eva Schued - Mayfield, Pennsylavia. Family from the Carpathian Mountains. Mother went back to poland when she was 3. Near Krawkow. lived in poland untill she was 21 years old. then she came back to america

My grandmother (Anna Taras - daughter of Julia Wrona and Timothy Taras) came from Labowa. I know my mother has mentioned people with the surname of Pelak who came to Binghamton, NY. The Wrona family did come to America and settled in Shamokin.

I have been to Labowa twice and there is not much left of the town from when our ancestors lived there. The Ukrainian Army came through the town during WWII - burned the town and forced the residents out. I do have photos of the town as it is today. The Greek Catholic Church is still standing.

I am aware of the location of the Greek Catholic Church records from Labowa. I would be interested in talking to you about Labowa. You can contact me at aloose@stny.rr.com.

Jacob Pelak was born abt 1850 in (now) Wola Cieklinska, Poland. He was a poor Ruthenian farmer that lived in a small dirt floor cottage with his wife Pelago. Jacod died in Warsaw and Pelago came to the US with their 5 children. They lived & died n the Little Falls NJ area.

I was excited to see your post. Can you tell me, how did you get such info? I'm interested in the origing of my family - which traces down to Adam Peliachyk (or maybe - some variation of this surname, as I have it in a "modern" form only), born around 1895-1905, from Losie.
He was lost in the beginning of WWII and we do not have any info on his parents.

It would be greate to search Losie Archive - but I have no idea of where to start.

Also I have info on descendents of Jakim Peliachyk (can only guess the spelling) from Labowa, close to Losie, of the same age, as Adam - maybe, brothers, cousins etc.

My name is Maryann Dubowchik Bacsik. I live in Little Falls, New Jersey. My great-grandmother was Eva Pelak born in Wola Cieklinska. Her brother Harry Pelak lived in Singac/Little Falls across the street from my grandparents - Paul Yurkowsky and Efrosenia Smarsh Yurkowsky. Efrosenia Smarsh was also born in Wola Cieklinska. Who are your relatives in New Jersey? Who was your ancestor who was born in Wola Cieklinska? Look at our website called avillagecluster.com which is about Wola Cieklinska, Folusz, Pielgrzymka and Klopotnica. I have Yurkowsky relatives living in Obertyn, Kolomyia and Donetsk. I don't know where my Dubowchik, Guzy and Smarsh relatives who were left in Poland went in 1945.

1.Miron Pelyak is the one of the first known family
members.He lived in Vola Ceklynska.He was the youngest in the family and inherited family land.Most of his other brothers and sisters moved(immigrated)to North America(as far as some family members know,to Canada).One of Miron's
sons follows in point 2 below.

2.Vasily Pelyak(born in 1892.Died in 1952 in
Kamenka,Ukraine). Vasily Pelyak(Vasily) was married to Anastasia. Their children are mentioned
in point 3 below.

a)Vasily had a brother called Pavel Pelyak.He was a
blacksmith. His first wife died in childbirth.He later married Vasilysa,remembered to have been a very kind woman*.Pavel died in Kolomia,Ukraine.

3.Vasily Pelyak had 4 children(a,b,c,and d):
a).Anna Pelyak(born 7 October 1922.Anna Pelyak married
Vasily Dziama (and became Anna Dziama)towards,or in 1944.They had 1 daughter Maria(born in 1944).Vasily Dziama died in the early
1990s.

Anna Dziama and her daughter(Maria and Maria's
husband,Victor Pen), and other relatives now live in Wroclaw,Poloand).There is active correspondence going on between them(in Wroclaw,Poland) and Galina Pilyak(in Donetsk,kraine).

b).Piotr Pelyak(born 24 March 1928 in Vola Ceklynska,Yaslowsky rayon/Yaslowsk district.Died in 1994,in Rovenky,Luhansk District,Ukraine). Piotr(Pyotr) Pelyak is Galina Pelyak's father.Piotr married Maria Biryukova
and Pilyak was born on 11 August 1952).Galina's
daughter is Elvira Pilyak(born 10 July 1977).

c).Mikhail Pelyak(born 14 July 1939).Lives in
Rovenky,Ukraine with his family: wife,Vera,daughter Natalia.

d).Pavel(Pavlo in Ukrainian)Pelyak(born in Vola
Ceklynska 17 April 1935).Died in Rovenky,Ukraine in
1997.

The family was evacuated from Vola Ceklynska to
Ukraine on 5 April 1945.The family was first evacuated
to Starobelsk (Luhansk,Ukraine),then to Borislav(Lviv
district) in 1946,to Korchevk district in 1948 before
settling in Rovenky,Luhansk district.

Other:
-Old photographs of all people mentioned above
except(Miron Pelyak)
are on record in the family album in Donetsk.
-Pelyak was changed to Pilyak(according to some Soviet
rules)when the
family was re-settled in Ukraine.
-Originals of certain documents such as the baptismal
certificate,school
leaving certificate(Swiadetwo Szkolne)are available.
-In some documents,such as school leaving
certificate(Swiadetwo Szkolne),Pelyak is spelt as
Pelak while in some others,such as the baptismal
certificate(hand-written,in Latin).
-Other relatives whose last name(surname) is Rak live
in Kolomia,Ukraine.
-Anna Dziama and Galina Pilyak correspond

Looking for descendents of Michael Pelak and Xenia Masciuck of Labowa and Kotow in the Nowy Sacz area of Austria Hungary. Their birth and death dates are unknown, but they had 4 children in about the 1860s, including Maxym born 1865 and Timko. Maxym immigrated to Shamokin in the coal mining region of central Pennsylvania in 1888.

Seeking information on Stanislaw (Stanley) Pelak (b. 5-8-1892 Poland / d. 10-16-1976 MI, USA) and/or his brother Albach (Albert) Pelak. Stanley emigrated to Grand Rapids, MI, USA in 1908, a few years after Albert. They were both cabinet workers in the furniture trade. Catholic. Stanley married Katarzyna (Katherine, Katerina) Kukawski (1898-1936), also of Poland, in 1922ish in Grand Rapids. She emigrated to G.R. about the same time with her brothers, Valentine and Lawrence. I do not know where in Poland they are from, so even leads on where other Pelaks and information can be found would be helpful.

I am researching my Pelak family line that came from Wola Cieklinska to Singac (Little Falls), New Jersey. I have many records of Pelak family members dating back to the 1700s from Wola Cieklinska. I would appreciate hearing from anyone out there with Pelak family from this area.
