Hi. I am the gggggranddaughter of Micajah Pendleton. He had 7 children, Joseph, Edmund, Edna, Letitia, Elizabeth, Robert, and Martha. His wife's last name was Breckenridge. I'll copy the marriage register that I have for Kate and Lewis and what ever else I have filed away. I think "R" means Rappahannock county. She lived in both Rappahannock and Culpeper counties.

I am starting to piece together more of my Thompson line and have seen Pendleton's living all around them in Census Records for Rappahannock.

Do you have a copy of the Marriage Register for Rappahannock and surrounding areas?

Here is one example of a listing.....

I have new information for her that will be great!

My gggrandmother was Katherine (Kate) Thompson. She was born around 1840 in Rappannock county, VA. On her 1867 marriage certificate it list her mother as Jane Thompson with no father listed. She married a Lewis Pendleton. Before marrying Pendleton she had two boys, Robert and Wade Thompson (my ggrandfather). Kate lived in both Rapphannock and Culpeper counties. Have you tried Culpeper? The counties sought of wrap around each other.

The family will receive friends 5 - 7 p.m. Saturday at North Brook Baptist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow.

A native of Lincoln County, he was a construction worker.

Looking for some help locating death location for Clifford PENDLETON. S/S says last residence was at Ottawa Co. OK, and that he died in Dec, 1966. I've searched on-line cemeteries for Ottawa, but couldn't find anything, so I'm hoping someone in OK knows of him. His parents were Steven Eugene Pendleton, and Nancy LOOP, originally from PA but went to Washington Co., OK around 1910. A brother to Clifford, Kenneth Deo Pendleton, went to Carney TX; a sister, Leota married Orville DOBBS and stayed in Washington Co, and lived at Copan and Bartlesville.

According to "Driggs Family in America", Marilla, born 15 Apr 1851 in Amesville, Ohio to David Pendleton and Ann - of McConnellville, Ohio, was Jeremiah's first wife (of two), with which he had 5 children, the 4 you mention & William Henry Driggs (31 Jan 1861 - Marietta, Ohio).

I have more info on Emma May Driggs and descendants of George Washington McClure.

I am searching for the parents and other ancestors for Thomas C Pendleton. According to the 1850 US Census for Hardin Co KY, he was born in Virginia. I don't know the county or his parents names. Does anyone have information that can help make a connection?

He was married to Mary Brown in 1832 in Hardin Co, Ky.

Some of his descendents, my direct line, are John Thomas Pendleton (b Ky), Paul Columbus Pendleton (b Ky), Raymond Thomas Pendleton (b Ky)

It is so nice to find a photo of my grandfather here. Yes, Oak Pendleton is my grandfather and Oak is a nickname, Lewis is his real name although he did name his son (my father) Oak. People always asked if that was a nickname or his real name. Anyway thanks so much for posting the photo as I don't think I have this one of him.

Frank or Francis Pendleton

My mother was raised as Frances Peldington. Her family records show her as a Peldington- daughter of Frank Peldington. Unfortunately, she never knew him.

Our search shows no name Peldington anywhere so we're wondering if the proper name could be Pendleton.

Or Frank Peldington or Pendleton visited the Montreal area or lived there in the 1920's. My mother was born in 1924.

He is the son of Frederick Pendleton and Joanna Wilbur who married and migrated from Weserly RI to IL. Henry married Charity Sears of Stewartville, MN. They then lived in Youngstown OH. I have a photo of a young Henry and Charity together, and individual photos in their later years that I'm willing to share a copy of if any of you Pendeltons are interested.

Pendelton / Pendleton Ogdensburg, New York 1800s

After a long search I have discovered the last name of my 4-great grandmother. She is Metilida Elizabeth (sometimes Eliza) Pendelton. I know from family history and from my great-uncle Donald who still remembers her daughter and grand-daughter, that she is from Ogdensburg, New York. We know she married William W. Bell in Elbert County, Georgia in 1841. My great-uncle says she she often went back to visit family there, and in fact, her daughter (his grandmother) met her future husband there. (He was from Canada). Metilida Elizabeth Pendleton was born in March 1820. She died in 1907 in Arkansas. Anybody who might have a connection to this family would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Susan, It has been awhile since you posted this but I do know of an Ella Pendleton sister of my grandfather Charley Pendleton in Bedford County, VA. Her name was actually Mary Ella but she went by her middle name. She was married to a Ben Franklin. Let me know if this is the Ella you are looking for.

Hi, Since the time I posted that message I have received some new information, but first. Marilla was Married, not born 15 April 1851 in Amesville, Ohio... if she was born in 1851 it would have been impossible for her to have children in 1852, 1855, 1856 and 1858. Second - William Henry Driggs you state born in 31 January 1861 is correct, but I show he was born to Edward Harrison Driggs and Carey Alice Thomas which of course is my mistake because Edward Harrison Driggs was not born until 1858 and did not marrie Carey Alice Thomas until 1885, so thank you for sending that information, so that I could catch my mistake. Which was a mistake that was actually in the original Driggs file I received.

Now for the new information... from John McClure on 27 July 2002 Marilla born 15 April 1829 (shown in the 1850 census for Morgan township, Ohio) in New York. Died 20 Feb 1893. Her mother was Anna Richar born April 1789 Brunswik, Rensselaer, New York. Marilla's father was David Pendleton born 9 Sept 1779 in Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island died about 1850 in Ohio - the information sent from John contains more information on David Pendleton, but nothing else on Anna

I have been trying to limit my research to my wife's father, James Richard Mansir, born 10/10/1910 in Minden, NE.and deceased in 1958. I was sidetracked because he changed his spelling to Mansier when he obtained a social security card in 1938. I posted a couple of messages three years ago trying to track down two more wives and especially 2 half brothers my wife has with no luck. In my research, I have obtained some Mansir information.
