Abiel Cheeney and Prudence Penfield were born in the town of Chatham, then including the present city of Middletown, in Connecticut, within twelve days of each other, in June, 1754. They were married in April 1772, and their first child was born in July, 1773. They are now living, aged over 89, in the city of New York, in good health, and cheerful possession of their faculties, he having never been sick in his life, excepting what he supposes the effect of strains and hard work as a ship carpenter, and she complained of rheumatism occasitonally. They have lived together, man and wife, over sixty-six years! and furnish a case of longevity, to which it would be difficult to find a parallel. New York American

FUNERAL OF ALBERT H. MUNGER.

The funeral of Albert H. MUNGER, who died at his home,
712 East Forty-seventh street, yesterday morning, will be
held at the home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon and will
be conducted by the Rev. Samuel HARKNESS, pastor
of Immanuel Presbyterian church.

Nearly all the absent relatives will be able to attend.
Mrs. P. S. DELANY of Denver, a daughter, and
Mr. DELANY will arrive from Denver this morning.

Williston P. MUNGER and Dudley B. MUNGER, sons,
will arrive from New York Wednesday morning.

Ben FITZPATRICK of Jacksonville, Fla., a stepson,
and Mrs. FITZPATRICK will reach Kansas City Friday
morning. Mrs. Aurelia F. CARR of New York, a
stepdaughter, will be unable to attend the funeral.

Mr. MUNGER's first wife was Anna PENFIELD of Detroit.
The marriage was in 1872. Mrs. MUNGER died in 1897.
In 1899, Mr. MUNGER married Mrs. Evelyn H. FITZPATRICK
of Montgomery, Ala.

Members of the MUNGER family regard almost as one of
their own number "Gus" BENSON, who has been attached
to the family continuously for twenty-eight years.

Dr. Ephraim P. Penfield was born 5 apr 1833 in Huron County, OH. He died 1 sep 1902 in Spokane, WA He married Delia Louise Smith (8 jul 1838 - 10 dec 1915) on 15 apr 1857 in North Fairfield, OH. Delia died in Wallace, ID. Her parents were Jonathan A. Smith and Belinda Holmes. they had 3 boys: Dr. Charles Samuel (28 Jan 1858 - 6 jul 1913 in Spokane, WA), James Whitney (12 jun 1869 - ?), Arthur Ephraim (28 aug 1878 - 27 oct 1924 in Los Angeles, CA) All three boys were born in Bucyrus, OH. I have a old family tree of Amos Penfield and Altana Babcock and their children. It is probably 140 years old (the last entry was 1867). It has been passed down through my family. How wonderful! I knew I should buy them when I saw them. I just moved and won't have an internet connect - using the library's computer at the moment - for another couple weeks, but will be in contact once I get that. The photos survived the move spendidly.

It could be the following:

1. A.S. Penfield could be Arthur Stanley Penfield born 9/14/1871 in Rantoul IL in 1871. He was the son of Guy Daniel and Frances Hayward Robertson. It is noted on page 162 of "The Genealogy of the Descendents of Samuel Penfield" by Florence Bentz Penfield.

2. Mrs J Penfield - not able to find this person.

3. Mrs Caroline Penfield is Arthurs Stanley's grandmother. She was the wife of Horace Eddy Penfield. Born 7/12/1805 died 11/19/1899 in Kalamazoo. They married 8/26/1823.

This is not my line - only what I was able to find via above reference. Maybe someone in the referenced line can help with the Mrs J Penfield

West Chazy — Adelaide Penfield, a lifelong resident of West Chazy, passed away on Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in West Chazy on May 25, 1908, the daughter of Herbert and Emma Carlton.

She was married to Edgar R. Penfield on March 24, 1932. He predeceased her on July 17, 1964.

She was a registered nurse, graduating from the Physicians Hospital nursing school in 1930. She did nursing work at the Physicians Hospital for many years, as well as private duty nursing. She also was a Clinton County Health Nurse.

Adelaide was a 74-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and held many offices. She was a communicant of the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church.

Hours of visitation will be held at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain on Sunday, Jan. 28th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Order of the Eastern Star will hold its ceremony on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jack T. Buttimar, from the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in the West Chazy Rural Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the West Chazy Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

Rouses Point — Florence Penfield, 86, of Rouses Point, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.

Florence was born Jan. 3, 1915, in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Wilbur and Anna (Sperry) Minkler.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henderson (Bunny) Penfield; one son, William Penfield; two brothers, Charles Minkler and Wilbur Minkler; and one sister, Lyla Fletcher.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Virginia Penfield of Greenville, R.I., Douglas and Linda Penfield of Piscataway, N.J.; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Florence was an active member of Three Steeples United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on May 27, 2001, from the Three Steeples United Methodist Church in Champlain. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. There will be a reception at Three Steeples United Methodist Church following the burial. Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Three Steeples United Methodist Church.

I am looking for ancestors and relatives of Andriana (Andrena 1911-1980's) Penfield Otto. Andrena (my grandmother) married Raymond Otto in 1926 and had 3 children: Marlys Rae (1929-1934), Charles Emanuel (1931-) and James.

Andrena's mother's first name was Rose.

Rose married __ Penfield, who worked in construction in Bismark, North Dakota. Rose ran a hotel and restaurant in the Bismark. Rose moved the family to Chamberlain, South Dakota (possibly without her husband) in the 1920's and ran a restaurant in town. Rose had another daughter named Molly (Muriel ?) and two sons Randall M. and Ronald (Ronnie). Both sons died fighting in WWII.

After her divorce,Andrena moved to Mitchell, SD and then to Carthage where she remarried Harry McGinnis and had 3 more children: Mary, Tom and Patrick.

Molly married a Bronco and had twins Walter and Wallace (Tiny). Molly remarried and had a male child. Her third marriage was to Flory Hines in Foresberg, South Dakota with no children.

Rose and Tiny are buried in the family (Penfield) cemetary plot in Esterville (?), Iowa.

Mrs. J. Penfield could be the wife of John Penfield. He had married twice. Once to Lydia Jane Hays Penfield b: 1830 and d: 1857 in Rantoul. The second wife was Lucy E. Wright of Whitehall, NY.

Mrs Stone was an exemplary and affectinate mother, and unceasing in her labors for those she loved. She lived to see not only her grandchildre4n, but her great grandchildren gather around her. She was a woman of remarkable energy and seldom would admit she was out of health. She was very patient and cheerful in her last sickness.
Mrs Britannia PENFELD STONE was born in Camden, Oneida, County, New York, January 24, 1812, died at hre residence on North Park Street February 9, 1897. She was he grandaughter of Jesse PENFIELD, who enlisted in the Continentals in the summer of 1775, and discharged 11/28/1775. He re enlisted June 1776, in the Third Battalion, Wadsworth Brigade, and was in the Battle of White Plains, 10/28/1776. When his time expired, he enlisted a third time, and was in the army until the close of the war. Her father, Fowler PENFIELD, was in the War of 1812.
