Ok, we went to Gaffney, SC today & got a copy of my parents marriage license. His name is Phillip Anthony De Penna, but on my adoptation papers, not the ones sealed by the state, my last name is Penna. My parents were married 04/12/1944. They were both 18 which tells me he was born the same year as my birth mom, 1927. I tried to obtain the divorce papers, but because it took place sometime around 1945, 46 or 47, not sure, they no longer keep the original record, only what date it was decreed. My aunt did tell me, she thought Phillip's older sister Mary was married to a Giles Blanton in Lattimore, NC area & at some point, Mary divorced him.

I am looking for Phillip Anthony Penna, born around 1927, we believe in PA. He had an older sister named Mary & a brother, not sure of age or name. At one point, Phillip moved to NC & went to work at a dairy farm in Lattimore, NC. He married Nancy Helen Whitener around 1944 in Gaffney, SC. His family was big into the Catholic church & when they found out about the marriage, he went back home to his parents. He remarried, in a Catholic church, around 1951. Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi, I believe they settled in Mass. I know my Grandfather lived in Mass, as for his parents and Sister (so rumor has it) I am not sure. I believe they came over from Lisbon Portugal in or around 1910 but some say as far ahead as 1916. I believe Antonio's fathers name was Joao Pena and I spell Pena this way as I have been told that, that is the original spelling. I guess they added the other "N" for some reason. I have had No Luck on the web or with family members with the Pena history. My Grandmother is now 87 years old and does not remember what my Grandfather told her about his family. After my Grandparents met he never saw his family again. He was Born in 1900 and died of Cancer in 1949, when my mom was 16. Frank (Francisco) was a very quiet man from what I have been told and never talked about or to his family.
I am not sure if this sheds any light on the situation or even if thier may be a connection. I hope there could be.
