Don, My name is Wayne Peon and as you can see the spelling is similar.We pronounce it "payon".My grandfather was born in rowe , mass , his father in Montpelier, vermont and his father in Canada in Quebec.His name was when he died John Peon and he was married to Margaret Stebbans.I know that John had at least 3 children but births are spread over 13 years between 1853 and 1866. I am sure they must have had more children in that time period but am unable to find any links.Maybe we can find a link between us.
Wayne

Yes! The name is confusing because without checking my DNA I'm unsure whether the Peone name is from South France..The Peone/Valburg region...or from Washington state in the Spokane country...If anyone has any update on this please e-mail me as soon as posible. Thanks!

Chris Peone

I am trying to find the parents of Josy. this takes place in Washington state and also Montana Flathead valley.
I know that my aunt is of indian blood. and that it is colville. Her grandmother is Lucy Bourassa. I have been searching quite a while and have come up with only a thread (Letter) to geraldine from Josy. Does any one have any info it would be greatly appreciated. please reply to renal@gemsi.com
Thank you

Dear Dina;
There is a branch of my family who changed their name to Peone and most of them lived in Washington State. Are you or your ancestors from that part of the world? If you are interested give me a reply with info about your grandparents and great-grandparents if you have that. I am willing to send you the info I have. If we are related your ancestors arrived in Canada in the mid 1600's. Hope to hear from you soon. Don
