First off, I'm relatively new to Geneology, and this is my first post on the forum.

I managed to track my direct paternal line to Anre Pepin (dit Lachance), Le Havre, France- 1600-1661?. It was fairly easy, even for a beginner. My Grandparents had great memories and helped me by remembering their great grandparents names. From there, a few searches on this forum got me even farther.

I've been looking for weeks to find farther back than Andre Pepin. He himself seems to be well documented, but nothing on his ancestors is found anywhere on the web. Where should I look?
